Recent wins and highlights of some of our recent starts and successfully completed projects.
As we approach the end of the third quarter, we want to take some time to acknowledge our continued commitment to exceeding expectations and highlight some of our successes over the course of the year. Starting off the year, Cory and I established two main goals for the company; continued commitment to staff education and training and continued smart growth. Since then, AE has done an outstanding job meeting these goals. As part of our initiative to provide our staff with education, training, and development opportunities, we have continued to prioritize required and desired certification opportunities for our team members, invest in training opportunities to support our clients growing needs, and have acquired numerous additional prequalifications and certifications throughout the Southeast Region of the United States to expand opportunities for our team members alike. We encourage professional growth and will continue to provide opportunities for you all to become the best versions of yourself both professionally and personally.
Our smart growth initiatives have continued to expand and improve these past few months in the streamlining of our Quality Control and Building Inspection services. We are appreciative of our dedicated staff that have continued to improve this groups’ responsiveness and capabilities. We have also continued our Out-of-state expansion with key hires to complement our existing projects and clients needs in both Georgia and North Carolina. We are excited to continue with these growth efforts in a manner that allows our firm to exemplify excellence in services provided.
As stated earlier in the year, we look forward to continuing the growth of our presence, diversifying our markets, and simply providing quality services to address the needs of our clients regionally. In addition to staff development and smart growth, we would like to make note of our commitment to safety. I am a true believer that our recently implemented Toolbox Talks make a difference. I’d like to give some special recognition to a few individuals who have contributed immensely to the program’s success. Thanks goes out to our amazing Safety Committee - we are resolutely focused on developing a core safety culture for our firm and look forward to exploring more Toolbox topics as we move forward with this initiative. AE’s core goal is to approach each challenge as a unified family, safety is a unifying goal so that we ensure the safety of all our team members and the traveling public.
Along the lines of family, I was excited to see the participation of our team members at our Companywide Summer Socials/Events –these are key to the culture Cory and I want to foster at AE. We appreciate those who took ode the time to participate and encourage those who didn’t to take the opportunity to engage with your colleagues to ensure you enjoy the AE workplace balance that we are seeking! As a nod to our company culture, I would like to highlight that since the start of 2023, AE has seen the highest return of past team members in its history; we are excited to have these high-performing professionals rejoin the AE family - Welcome Home!
We thank you all for making a continuous effort to maintain the AE mission and vision and look forward to what the rest of the year will bring. We are appreciative of all our great team members and I salute my cap to all the AE Champions as we continue to pursue our goals as a group! On a personal note, I’m currently participating in the #Greatcyclechallenge to raise money to fight Kids Cancer…. I’ve committed to riding 400 miles this month and ask that you please support me and this worthy cause if you can.
Roderick Myrick, P.E. PresidentAs we grow at AE, we are grateful to welcome many new and returning employees to our team. We are excited to watch them grow professionally with us as we continue to work alongside our amazing clients.
Thank you for choosing AE!

AE is honored to have been selected as the Prime CEI firm for some of our many recent contracts/projects throughout the states of Florida and Georgia. Our team has also been a subconsultant to a variety of different projects and contracts throughout North Carolina, Florida, and Georgia. As we continue to grow as a firm, it’s our goal to continue to provide quality professional and CEI services to each and every client.
This $97M widening project for the Central Florida Expressway Authority includes 3.6 miles of road widening, the widening of three bridges, and the addition of 11 sound walls, five temporary critical walls, and 18 overhead sign structures. The project is projected to run for 840 days.
This project is comprised of two contracts with a combined construction cost of $19M. The improvements and ITS updates cover 77 miles of I-4, 122 miles of other routes along the I-4 Corridor, 491 traffic signals, and the project spans three districts, four counties, and multiple municipalities.
This scope of this project is improvements to the existing interchange, which includes reconstructing I-285/I-20 East Interchange ramps, the addition of lanes where warranted, constructing a new collector-distributor road along westbound I-20 , and replacing and widening some of the existing bridges.
The objective of this Design-Build project is to construct a new pump station and replace the existing storm drainage system within Jacksonville’s historic San Marco neighborhood. The improvements to the collection system include the installation of new pipes, the addition of manholes, and a backflow preventer at the St. Johns River.
The project includes milling and resurfacing on the shoulders, two right turn lanes, 20 crossovers, turnouts, side streets and driveways by employing different milling depths. Other improvements include drainage replacement, two right turn lanes widening with a bike lane, and a bridge component.
This project is an ongoing $5M contract with Heartland Operations for hybrid inspection that provides support personnel for several diverse projects that inlcude sidewalk construction, roadway resurfacing, and bridge rehabilitation. AE currently has 8 team members supporting this contract for various projects.
