Since then, we have grown into a multi-faceted engineering company, providing quality professional services to City, County, State and private clients. The AE corporate headquarters has remained in Jacksonville, Florida since the company’s inception. CORE SERVICES CONSTRUCTION ENGINEERING INSPECTION AND CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT CONSTRUCTION ENGINEERING INSPECTION AE has been a Construction Engineering Inspection (CEI) provider since its inception in 2006, providing quality administration and construction management services to City, County, State and private clients throughout the Southeast. We currently have over 90 team members dedicated to our CEI Department and continue to grow our core service line every year. Our first-class CEI services include the following: • Management, administration, and inspection of a project • Ensuring all project elements are constructed according to plan, within allowable budget, and per accepted contract time and schedule AE’s experienced CEI personnel leave our clients at ease knowing that every project will be managed effectively from preconstruction through final acceptance. Our team monitors on-site activities to ensure all proper safety measures are in place while plans and specifications are being followed precisely.
CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT Roadway CEI: AE is well versed in the major areas of roadway construction inspection including: • Asphalt • Earthwork • Concrete structures • Drainage Milling and resurfacing of existing asphalt pavement comprises a large portion of public transportation construction operations. This requires unique project management with in-depth understanding of the production and placement operations of the asphalt pavement to ensure the intended life span is achieved. Our staff includes experienced professionals to inspect, test, monitor and document the overall asphalt paving process. AE has the proper testing equipment for earthwork operations, including soil moisture and density field testing. Our experienced staff understands the importance of proper installation of various drainage elements and often assist the general contractor during layout and installation to ensure high quality. Concrete is field tested for plastic properties and for strength via cylinder cast breaks. Construction Materials Testing (CMT): AE provides in-house CMT services including: • Gradation and plastic properties • Asphalt binder content • Proctors
• LBRs • Organics • Concrete testing for compressive and flexural strength Our administrative staff reads through plans and specifications to identify any issues or discrepancies to be solved in the field at the lowest level possible. PROJECT MANAGEMENT Grant Projects (Federal and State): AE specializes in oversight services for LAP, SCRAP, SCOP, JPA, CIGP, SRTS, and various other grant funded projects with local agencies throughout the State. Our firm has performed CEI Services on over 50 grant funded projects and has numerous professionals who are GAP Trained and LAP Certified. We also have specialists serving the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) as in-house support for FDOT Local Programs throughout the state. Schedule Analysis: An accepted baseline schedule provides the outline and roadmap to project success and claims avoidance
from the start. Our team includes scheduling experts with extensive experience in CPM schedule review, adept at quickly identifying potential delays, developing recovery plans and maintaining project schedules. Proactive and continual schedule analysis ensures the greatest benefit to the project –ensuring the contractor’s timely completion. Claim Mitigation/Issue Resolution: Efficient CEI management and claim mitigation through prompt issue resolution enables clients to stay within project budget. Through claim mitigation, the following key components ensure success: 1. AE’s construction engineers are well-versed in current construction practices, sequencing and contract interpretation. Once contractors are aware of our real-world understanding of construction processes allow us to foresee and address potential issues, and suggest and implement any required changes. 2. Understanding schedules is critical in mitigating claims for delays. Our schedule reviews incorporate looking ahead for possible conflicts. 3. Our staff takes shared ownership in project issues. When plan errors or unforeseen circumstances are encountered, we strive to produce solutions in cooperation with the contractor. If we can jointly solve problems, we can reduce costly delays for the contractor and owner alike.
CONTRACTOR QUALITY CONTROL AND MATERIALS TESTING AE provides Contractor Quality Control (CQC) services on infrastructure projects in Florida and Georgia and is continuing to expand this fast-growing service line throughout the southeast. ASSET & INFRASTRUCTURE MAINTENANCE AE’s maintenance engineering inspection (MEI) division provides comprehensive maintenance solutions spanning from emergency response to maintenance project development and design to contract and permitting review and various inspection support for maintenance items. AE recognized the opportunity in the MEI services field and made a commitment to our various DOT clients to develop this division. We invested in creating a Maintenance Department with a dedicated Maintenance Director leading the effort in developing and training our staff on maintenance processes and procedures through education and implementation. Our dedicated team has 50+ years of collective FDOT maintenance experience, currently manages successful multi-million dollar contracts in Districts 5 and 6, and supports FDOT MEI needs on additional MEI continuing services contracts for all other Districts throughout the State of Florida.

BUILDING INSPECTIONS
AE provides plans review and private provider inspections throughout North Florida pursuant to Florida Statute No. 553.791 and Chapter 1 of the Florida Building Code, which provides owners the option to obtain third-party inspections from licensed engineering firms in lieu of the local building department. AE offers high-quality and timely inspections and has the ability to process compliance documents in-house. These services expedite the plans review and permitting processes for our clients, allowing them to begin construction of their project faster, and have inspections completed within a time frame they can have confidence in.
PLAN REVIEW AND PRIVATE PROVIDER INSPECTION Our Licensed Building Official, Professional Engineers, and Licensed Inspectors are well versed in local, state, and international building codes as well as local laws, rules, regulations, directives, and ordinances. AE’s staff is experienced in construction processes and building inspections, which allows us to provide thorough plan reviews and building departmentmandated inspections to ensure compliance with applicable building codes and local amendments.
