Welcome to SCOTS PGC College.
It’s an honour to be principal and a part of this amazing community.
As one of the most prominent regional independent schools in Australia, we provide an excellent and unique educational experience for country, metropolitan and international students in a coeducational setting. And while our history runs deep, in excess of some 100 years in fact, we’re immensely proud of our College today and our plans for the future.
Schools are dynamic places, human places, and since arriving in late 2017, it’s become clear to me that people are what makes our College so special. At the same time, our approach, coupled with the programs we provide and unique regional experiences we afford, feels special to SCOTS PGC too.
We believe our role is to show our boys and girls what’s possible and to provide opportunities that help them to find and fulfil their potential. A holistic, Christian values-based education that nurtures heads and hearts, is what we’re all about and we feel privileged to do the work we do.
We also believe that learning takes place everywhere. Beyond providing pathways to the future, we’re here to help our boys and girls become good people of great character; people who will go on to make meaningful contributions in our community, the broader community and indeed the world.
Kyle Thompson SCOTS PGC COLLEGE Principal
I’m incredibly proud of my longstanding connection with SCOTS PGC College — a connection that runs deep through generations of my family.
Our ties to the College date all the way back to 1944. My uncle, Scott Finlay, once served as Chairman of the College Council, and my grandfather, alongside his brothers, helped fund the establishment of the SCOTS PGC Pipes and Drums in the late 1940s — a contribution that still echoes through the traditions of our College today.
As a former College Captain in 1985, returning to serve as the current Chair of the SCOTS PGC Foundation feels like a natural continuation of that legacy. I’ve been honoured to hold this position since 2022, and I see it as both a privilege and a responsibility — a way to give back to the place that has given so much to my family and me.
Philanthropy plays a crucial role in helping us preserve and strengthen what makes SCOTS PGC so special.
The generosity of past and present donors directly impacts the lives of our students by opening up new opportunities, supporting academic and
co-curricular programs, and ensuring that our facilities continue to evolve in line with their needs.
Whether it’s funding scholarships, investing in campus improvements, or supporting cultural programs like the Pipes and Drums, philanthropy enables us to create a more inclusive and enriching experience for every student. It allows us to dream bigger and to help our young people find their purpose, their passion, and their place in the world.
Greg Finlay Foundation Chairman
CHOOSING GREAT
SCOTS PGC College is proud to be a leader in educational excellence, as well as a provider of a supportive and nurturing community for students and their families. This cannot away be achieved through fees alone, so the SCOTS PGC College Foundation was established as an avenue to provide philanthropic support to the College community.
SCOTS PGC College was built on philanthropy. Our students have been, and will continue to be the beneficiaries of the support provided by our parents, Past Students and supporting organisations.
We are exceptionally grateful to those that have and continue to give generously, to so provide opportunities and support, as well as building and facility upgrades that our students enjoy. Our plans are centered around ‘choosing great’. choosing great over good is how we create real and lasting value for our boys and girls.
We want to continue our proud tradition of educating a future of leaders and we can only achieve that through your continued support.

SCOTS PGC COLLEGE FOUNDATION
The SCOTS PGC College Foundation provides an independent funding source to support the school in advancing its strategic direction.
Through the raising and management of funds, we seek to make a difference to the lives of the boys and girls of SCOTS PGC today and to safeguard the school’s success for generations to come. For these reasons, we see our role as one of fostering a spirit of generosity by sharing with our community how we can make an impact and why philanthropy matters.
