I’m incredibly proud of my longstanding connection with SCOTS PGC College — a connection that runs deep through generations of my family.
O
ur ties to the College date all the way back to 1944. My uncle, Scott Finlay, once served as Chairman of the College Council, and my grandfather, alongside his brothers, helped fund the establishment of the SCOTS PGC Pipes and Drums in the late 1940s — a contribution that still echoes through the traditions of our College today. As a former College Captain in 1985, returning to serve as the current Chair of the SCOTS PGC Foundation feels like a natural continuation of that legacy. I’ve been honoured to hold this position since 2022, and I see it as both a privilege and a responsibility — a way to give back to the place that has given so much to my family and me. Philanthropy plays a crucial role in helping us preserve and strengthen what makes SCOTS PGC so special. The generosity of past and present donors directly impacts the lives of our students by opening up new opportunities, supporting academic and
co-curricular programs, and ensuring that our facilities continue to evolve in line with their needs. Whether it’s funding scholarships, investing in campus improvements, or supporting cultural programs like the Pipes and Drums, philanthropy enables us to create a more inclusive and enriching experience for every student. It allows us to dream bigger and to help our young people find their purpose, their passion, and their place in the world.
