Dear Advocates Family, The first time we set foot on African soil back in 2006, our lives were changed forever. The poverty, suffering, sickness, and the lack of access to the Gospel were simply appalling compared to what we have access to in our Western world. Since then, our every goal has been to speak up on behalf of those who can’t speak for themselves; to help those who can’t help themselves, to empower those who can’t empower themselves ,and to share the Gospel with all who have never heard.

It’s making a difference! Men, women, and children are being reached with the Gospel and empowered to provide for themselves and their families. These lives, which have been positively affected through Advocates For Africa, are not the result of our sacrifice alone. God’s grace and good-hearted people like you have made it possible. Together, we all can make a difference.

In the next few pages, you’ll be presented with opportunities to make a difference this year. Each project positively impacts the lives of those who need our help. The third leading cause of death for a child in Africa is directly linked to drinking unsafe water. SCHOOL UNIFORMS OBJECTIVE To provide school uniforms for children, enabling them to attend school with pride.

PROBLEM In most parts of Africa, children must wear a uniform to attend school.

Thankfully, Rwanda recently changed this law and is no longer a requirement. However, there are still thousands of children who will not attend due to the shame of not having the uniforms that others have.

SOLUTION We conduct hygiene training seminars in rural villages where we educate on how germs spread, on the importance of handwashing, female hygiene issues, how to correctly wash food, and on the importance of boiling water. These trainings are primarily made up of women, so in addition to the training, we provide them with “beauty bags”.
