The first migration directly from Scotland came aboard the ship Hector in 1773, and the area has long been renowned as the Birthplace of New Scotland. This heritage is reflected by the region’s architecture and landscape, and celebrated in its arts, language, music, and traditions. There is amazing bounty harvested from both land and sea and an opportunity to step back in time and connect with our locals to learn about our history.
