Upgraded facilities bring the community together AS the new year unfolds, the camaraderie at Murchison Men's Shed is reaching new heights in their recently developed space. More than six months after the grand opening, members are still buzzing with excitement about the possibilities their expanded premises offer. Thanks to funding from the Victorian Government Department of Families, Fairness and Housing (DFFH), the Men's Shed was able to transform their old quarters into a vibrant hub for community engagement. The passion of the members has breathed life into the new building, turning it into more than just a shed. T h e s it e i s n ow a hu b contributing to the wellbeing of members and the broader community. Greater Shepparton

City Council mayor, Cr Shane Sali expressed delight in the positive response, noting how the new facilities had sparked renewed enthusiasm among members. "It is fantastic to see the positive difference which the new shed has already made. I look forward to seeing many new projects held in the space and many more positive relationships formed over the coming years," said Cr Sali. Dennis McCullagh, Murchison Men's Shed president, shared his excitement about the impact of the new space, saying, "We have been able to move from a 22 square metre space to the new shed of 288 square metres. It is a great improvement with a lot more room for our members to relax and enjoy the facilities," he said. "The increased size brings with

Putting right foot forward, because Every Day Counts! Getting your child up, dressed, fed and off to school isn’t always easy. But it’s super important for their education.

• Missing a day a fortnight adds up to four weeks a year – or an entire year of education by Year 12

There are no safe number of days for missing school. Every day missed can put a student behind – with their studies, with their friends and with their connection to school.

• A child missing a day a week will miss 2 ½ years of school – placing them well behind their peers

Illness is a valid reason to stay at home. But there are very few other reasons… and every day missed adds up:

Hear Shepparton primary students spread the message: Page 4 – The Adviser Australia No.1:1698 Wednesday, January 31, 2024

• Even missing 30 minutes a day adds up to four weeks a year With school starting, we encourage parents and carers to set routines and

talk positively about the importance of attending school every day. Try to avoid doctor or dentist visits during the school day and plan family holidays for the term break. Schools always want to positively work in partnership with their families. Act early if you have attendance concerns by contacting your child’s school and asking for advice and support. “ I NEVER THOUGHT I’D BE HOMELESS.”

Wasteland to wetlands B y We n dy D ’A m o re , S he p pa r t o n Mooroopna Urban Landcare Group president WORLD Wetlands Day is celebrated on February 2 every year and this year the theme is ‘Restoring our Wetlands.’ This coincides locally with a focus on wetlands at one of the region’s amazing tourist attractions and busiest areas of community outdoor use, the Australian Botanic Gardens Shepparton. What we now call the wetlands at the Gardens, were large, degraded borrow pits formed when soil was removed to provide t he capping of the mound which covers the obsolete rubbish tip. This entire wetland can be viewed from the top of the Honeysuckle R ise a nd it s cha ng i ng landscape, in flood, d r y a nd ave r a g e conditions. The aptly named ‘Wasteland to Wetlands’ project plans to transform the easterly borrow pit into a thriving wetland by revegetating with various semi-aquatic and other plants. This will enhance biodiversity, reduce erosion, and provide a habitat for birds, insects and aquatic life. Shepparton Mooroopna Urban Landcare Group (SMULG) will carry works in 2024, supported by the Goulburn Broken Catchment Management Authority and funded by Victorian Government Landcare Grants. Tasks include weed removal post-floods, installing nest boxes, conducting clean-up days, and organising activities with partners like Friends of ABGS and RiverConnect. The community values this area for its gardens, recreational opportunities, scenic views, wildlife and children's play areas, all overlooking the wetlands.

STATE MEMBER FOR SHEPPARTON DISTRICT

A New Year Begins

As we all settle into a new year, I would like to wish everyone a positive and safe year ahead. A special mention to our teachers and students commencing the school year this week – my very best wishes to you all.

Return to Parliament

I will return to Parliament on February 6th. It will be a busy year ahead addressing pressing issues, notably our electorate’s housing shortage and homelessness crisis, the deplorable state of our roads, the escalating cost of living, and the ongoing health crisis, among others.

Parliamentary Youth Forum in Shepparton I am pleased that Shepparton will host a Parliamentary Youth Forum this April. This presents a fantastic opportunity to engage with and listen to the young voices in the electorate. I will have more information out soon.

Anglican School to Open in 2024

Recently, I had the pleasure of touring the new, All Saints Anglican School, Shepparton, guided by the principal, Jim Laussen. The school offers such a wonderful learning environment, and I am thrilled to see it commence its first year, welcoming students from prep to year 7. I extend my best wishes to the school and its students for a successful first year.

Indicating optional in Shepparton Community Champions Acknowledged Are we terrible drivers?

I had the honour of participating in the Australia Day events and Citizenship awards in Numurkah, Shepparton, Dookie and Mooroopna. My heartfelt congratulations to all the award nominees and recipients across our towns. It was wonderful to attend the citizenship ceremony in Shepparton to welcome new citizens.

ROUND AND ROUND WE GO... The irony of the roundabout separating Corio, Hoskin, Johnson and Sobraon Streets is that it’s overshadowed by VIC Roads where you go to get your licence and must know the road rules while being arguably the most misunderstood roundabout for local drivers. Because of the angled nature of Hoskin Street, drivers sometimes indicate when they don’t need to, but more often don’t indicate when they should. Photo: Aaron Cordy

By Aaron Cordy ROLLING up to an intersection, watching the oncoming traffic can be an enigmatic mystery to test the stress levels of even the calmest drivers. Indicating at intersections is not always done in Shepparton, and forget about roundabouts, where it appears more common to witness drivers indicate halfway through their turn if at all. It would appear many in Shepparton don’t know that if you are turning a corner at an intersection and a pedestrian is crossing the road you are turning onto, they have right of way. Despite the person on foot having right of way, they are often taking their life into their own hands expecting drivers to stop for them. Another bad habit I’ve noticed in Greater Shepparton drivers have taken to is running red lights. While most in the area will try to squeeze through the yellow and red lights before the traffic in the opposite direction shifts into gear. But there have also been a

number of drivers stopped at a red light, for no obvious reason, drive through a red when – but not always- the way is clear. The Goulburn Valley has some of the worst roads in the country, but how often do local drivers slow down for road works? Whether it’s council workers mowing lawns along Wyndham Street or the ongoing road works around the district, many drivers don’t slow down and obey the temporary speed signs. This apathy for road rules is shocking on the back of the 2023 road toll which took 14 lives in the Greater Shepparton area. Second only to Moira Council at 16. Staggeringly up from four and six respectively in 2022. According to Data Vic, there were 1,907 incidents on Greater Shepparton roads in one-month last year. It appears many don’t know the rules, or is it just a few dragging the rest of the community down? Are Greater Shepparton drivers, bad drivers?

Bunbartha Levee Repaired

The recent floods have refocused attention on the ongoing challenges many in our community face since the 2022 floods. The repair of the Bunbartha levees is a significant achievement, a result of persistent lobbying alongside the local Bunbartha community. I will continue to lobby for the ongoing need to help those still impacted and struggling to get back into homes or businesses.

Advocacy for ovarian cancer in February EVERY year in Australia, around 1,815 women are sadly diagnosed with ovarian cancer. February is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month, and women are being encouraged to know the symptoms and to see their GP if concerned. Murchison local Luisa Niglia, was diagnosed with Stage 3C ovarian cancer in July 2021, 10 months after showing initial symptoms of fatigue, bloating, and hair loss. Despite informing her GP of a possible ovary growth in May 2021, an ultrasound and x-ray returned as non-urgent. Pushing for additional testing, Luisa had a CT scan in July, which led to her diagnosis. Luisa's family, friends, and the local community have provided incredible support during her treatment, and her determination to overcome the disease is unwavering. She has joined forces with three other survivors around Australia to warn women not to dismiss early symptoms of the deadly disease, which is the eighth most common type of cancer in Australia and the sixth most common type to lead to loss of life. “Being a lower-incidence cancer that often presents with vague symptoms, those presenting to their GPs are often not considering

A gathering of strength GREY skies Thursday, January 25 did not deter the community coming together for a special survival day breakfast organised by Rumbalara Aboriginal Co-Operative to reflect on more than 250 years of white colonisation. The area known as Rumbalara has a rich traditional history spanning thousands of years. The contemporary history of Rumbalara began in the 1940s on the river flats between Shepparton and Mooroopna, following the Cummeragunja Walk-Off. In 1980, the community established the Co-Operative as a hub for Indigenous gatherings. Additionally, it serves as a platform for education, information dissemination, and support in crucial areas like health, housing, welfare and culture.

For First Nations people, January 26 marks the invasion of British settlers in 1770. Invasion Day events acknowledge this and the resistance and survival of Indigenous people in the face of systematic and ongoing injustice and denial of rights. This was the first event of its kind organised by Rumbalara Aboriginal Co-Operative, and with more than 50 people in attendance, the event was a resounding success. Michael Bourke led a smoking ceremony and Welcome to Country at the Harmony Building, which was followed by a minute's silence as attendees reflected on the history of colonisation and its impact on Indigenous people past, present and emerging.

Duck hunting here to stay IN response to the Parliament's Inquiry into Victoria's recreational native bird hunting arrangements, the Victorian Government has affirmed its commitment to recreational duck and quail hunting. Despite rejecting one of the Select C o m m it t e e's r e c o m m e nd at io n s , t h e government has announced seven commonsense changes to ensure the activity remains safe, sustainable, and responsible. The changes, set to take effect from 2025, include mandatory education and training for hunters to enhance their knowledge and skills. Stricter compliance levels with increased penalties for rule violations, a ban on lead shot for quail hunting, and the implementation of the Waterfowl Wounding Reduction Action Plan are part of the proposed measures. Additionally, there will be greater recognition of Traditional Owners' knowledge of hunting and land management. To ensure the scientific management of duck seasons, the government will implement the Adaptive Harvest Management process from 2025. This approach aims to align the length and conditions of each duck season with scientific principles, emphasizing a commitment to sustainability.

Minister for Outdoor Recreation, Steve Dimopoulos, highlighted the importance of responsible hunting, stating, "Duck hunting is a legitimate activity – but more than that, it supports regional communities and economies." He emphasised the government's unchanged position on supporting recreational duck and quail hunting while ensuring minimal harm to the environment. After record-high native bird breeding due to significant rainfall in recent years, the Victorian game duck population has seen a three-fold increase. The 2024 duck season is set to commence on April 10, 2024, and end on June 5, 2024. Hunting start times will be delayed to 8.00 am for the entire season. The Blue-winged Shoveler and Hardhead, listed as threatened species, cannot be hunted during the 2024 season. Minister Dimopoulos expressed gratitude to everyone who contributed to the inquiry, emphasising the importance of listening to different perspectives in shaping responsible and sustainable hunting practices. The decision reflects the government's commitment to balancing the interests of outdoor enthusiasts, regional communities, and environmental conservation.

Make the most The space and support to thrive at ACE of free TAFE VICTORIAN school-leavers are being urged to seize the opportunity presented by the expanded eligibility for Free TAFE at GOTAFE. Following the second round of Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC) offers, thousands of secondary school graduates have already secured spots in their preferred TAFE or University courses. However, for those still awaiting results, four more VTAC rounds are yet to come. GOTAFE’s acting executive director education, Luke Surace, emphasised the advantage of Free TAFE, noting that it equips students with valuable skills for high-demand careers without the burden of tuition fees. The increased eligibility introduced in 2023 has persisted into 2024, offering additional courses and opportunities for Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander students. According to the Victorian Skills Plan, a third of jobs in 2026 will require skills aligned with Vocational Education and Training (VET) qualifications. Free TAFE addresses this demand, supporting training in areas facing shortages. GOTAFE Information Technology (IT) student, Alistair Wall, highlighted the positive impact of Free TAFE, allowing him to focus on his studies without financial stress. Alistair expressed excitement about industry growth and plans to pursue further studies in Cyber Security. Key changes in Free TAFE eligibility for 2024 include the removal of specific age, upskilling, or reskilling requirements, making most community members eligible for the program. EMPOWERING SHEPPARTON... WomenCAN founder and CEO, Mikaela Stafrace, is pleased to announce the launch of a pioneering project, in collaboration with Greater Shepparton Foundation, Bowden Marstan Foundation, GOTAFE and Greater Shepparton City Council. Together, they are unlocking opportunities for 20 diverse women in Early Childhood Education and Childcare traineeships. Groundbreaking project for women in Early Childhood Education By Mikaela Stafrace, WomenCAN founder and CEO EXCITING news for the women and children, indeed for the families, of the Shepparton region! WomenCAN Australia is proud and happy to be launching our first Shepparton project, which will support 20 women from diverse backgrounds into Early Childhood Education and Childcare traineeships in the Greater Shepparton LGA. We’re doing it in collaboration with Greater Shepparton Foundation, Greater Shepparton City Council, Bowden Marstan Foundation and GOTAFE. WCA supports women into employment and education through our unique evidence-based, peer-led, peerdriven support for women by women with shared lived

experience, The Placement Circle. This support is crucial: many of the women might not have English as their first language, so navigating the system can be daunting. And a lot of the women may have been out of the workforce caring for others. We give them confidence, connections, and certified skills. We remove barriers. For the past 10 weeks, we’ve been delighted to team with The Adviser to herald this initiative and to introduce WomenCAN Australia. Interested employers, trainees and members of the public, why not come along to the launch on February 15, 2024 at Common Ground Cafe, GOTAFE (152-200

Fryers St), and discover the opportunities of WomenCAN Australia's 'earn & learn' model? There will be afternoon tea, meet and greet opportunities and guest speakers. Children are the world’s future. Helping them learn in their early years can be your future. We are here to help you make that happen.

Bloody good effort from Goulburn-Murray water By Aaron Cordy BLEEDING for the company is something that's often thrown around by employees around the world, staff of Goulburn-Murray Water (GMW) have taken the saying literally by making regular blood donations. GMW has a Lifeblood team of staff who donate blood at their local Lifeblood branches. In 2023, the team managed a total of 114 blood donations. GMW asset planning manager Fiona Nioa is one of the regular donors for the team and

has been donating blood for close to 20 years. “I first tried to donate blood when I was 17 and I actually fainted,” said Ms Nioa. “For quite a while I wasn’t allowed to try again but after many phone calls, I convinced them to let me have another go. Everything went smoothly, so I have been making regular donations ever since.” GMW asset strategy and engineering support manager, Shayne Lowe is another who contributed to the Lifeblood Team tally. He said his family and colleagues were a big

part of the reason he had begun giving blood. “I now have friends and family who rely on blood donations, so I’m really grateful to be able to do my bit. It’s a small commitment but it goes a long way,” said Mr Lowe. GMW allows employees to take leave to give blood to help incentivise staff to do so. The Shepparton Donor Centre received over 8,500 lifeblood donations in 2023. To book a donation or check if you can donate, call 131 495 or visit the Lifeblood website: lifeblood.com.au

The courses encompass diverse fields such as social work, counselling, therapy, youth work, disability services, aged care, homelessness support, and more. With classes held only one day a week, ASHE accommodates individuals seeking to enhance their skills in critical areas while balancing work or family commitments. ABILITIES... Soft skills sculpt careers. From effective communication to problemsolving, they’re the silent architects of professional success. Photo: Supplied

SOFT skills, defined as personality traits and behaviours, play a crucial role in career development. Unlike technical skills, they focus on how individuals interact in various situations rather than knowledge. Job seekers can benefit from understanding and showcasing these attributes. Soft skills encompass interpersonal and communication abilities that employers value. E xamples include ef fective communication, teamwork, dependability, adaptability, conflict resolution, flexibility, leadership, problem-solving, research, creativity, work ethic, or integrity During interviews, showcasing these skills

is crucial. For instance, discussing problemsolving abilities when addressing challenges demonstrates practical application. Improving soft skills involves consistent practice and observation. Job seekers can pick a skill to enhance and incorporate it into their routine. Additionally, observing and mimicking positive soft skills in others can aid development. While hard skills are crucial for technical tasks, soft skills are equally vital for becoming a valued, promotable employee. Job seekers should emphasise and continually develop these skills throughout their career journey.

Making meaningful impact MHA Care, a non-profit organisation with a rich history dating back to 1999, has been steadfast in its commitment to providing outstanding home and community care services throughout the Moira Shire and adjacent regions. In 2023 we expanded the delivery of our home and community care services into the City of Greater Shepparton area. Securing funding from both the Victorian State and Commonwealth Governments, MHA Care plays a vital role in delivering subsidised services to eligible clients within the ‘Commonwealth Home Support Programme’ and ‘Home and Community Care Program for Younger People.’ Beyond these government initiatives, MHA Care proudly serves as an approved provider for Home Care Packages, Veterans Home Care, WorkCover and the Transport Accident Commission. Their services extend beyond those covered by government subsidies, catering to individuals who may not qualify for

subsidised aged care services or prefer to privately purchase them. Furthermore, other organisations have the option to engage MHA Care to provide services on behalf of individuals. MHA Care's core philosophy centres around placing clients first, consistently delivering best-practice care to the elderly, frail and disabled members of the community. This commitment is reflected in the diverse range of services provided across Yarrawonga, Cobram, Numurkah, Nathalia, Shepparton and the surrounding communities. For those considering a career in the aged care industry, MHA Care offers a rewarding opportunity to join their team as a care worker. The aged care sector is known for its fulfilling nature, and working with MHA Care allows individuals to make a meaningful impact in the lives of those in need. Grant program to strengthen GP workforce SEEKING to address the growing need for primary care, the Labor Government has announced a $32M grant program aiming to bolster Victoria's GP workforce. Minister for Health Mary-Anne Thomas announced 800 grants, each worth up to $40,000, to encourage medical graduates to pursue careers in general practice. Delivering on a key election promise, 400 grants are available in 2024, with an additional 400 in 2025 for those entering Victoria's GP training program. Eligibility includes medical graduates opting for general practice and doctors commencing training in 2023 who

applied and enrolled after November 27, 2022. The grants aim to counter challenges faced by young doctors, such as higher remuneration in other specialties, fostering interest in general practice. Applicants can apply through the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM) or the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) websites after enrolling in GP training programs. The initiative aligns with the government's commitment to growing the health workforce, recruiting 7,705 healthcare workers, including 3,100 from overseas since 2022. Acknowledging the critical role GPs play in maintaining

community health, Minister Thomas said, "These grants are providing the incentive graduates need to consider a career in general practice and will ensure Victoria has the GP workforce we need both now and into the future." The initiative aligns with the government's commitment to overcoming challenges in accessing GP services, complemented by the establishment of Priority Primary Care Centres, the Victorian Virtual Emergency Department, and the Community Pharmacist Statewide Pilot. 2024 2023 Make sure your email is appropriate. It’s best to have an email that has your name in it.

Anatomy of a good resumé WHETHER you’re applying for your first job, your dream job or changing careers, it all starts with a great CV to showcase your skills and expertise and get your foot in the door.

Keep your resumé simple! Using out-there fonts, using pictures or lots of colour can be distracting and look unprofessional.

It’s best practice to have multiple versions of your resumé that are tailored to each company you apply for. While the experience and timeline will stay the same, you should call out and highlight specific skills or experiences that suit the position and show why you’re a good fit.

Always use positive language. The employer doesn’t need to know your negative qualities.

Put your contact details at the top of the page (but not in the header), so it is easy to find.

Education is where you say how much education you’ve participated in, and any learning experience you have. You could include any short courses or projects you’ve worked on too.

Achievements: if you haven’t been employed before, use this section to list your positive qualities. You might include things like excellent communication skills or an excellent team worker, a fast learner, a good listener – all of these are attributes that employers are looking for. Lack of formal experience is not always a bad thing in the job market.

YOU’VE GOT THIS Be compassionate through nursing? Build communities through community services? Care for animals through veterinary science? With GOTAFE by your side, YOU’VE GOT THIS.

Be sure to spellcheck your resumé and get someone else to read over it for spelling and grammatical errors.

Skills and strengths: this is where you should talk about things that would be valuable to the job you’re applying to. Referring to the job ad’s key selection criteria is a good way to address this. You can give your potential employer references if they ask you for them. This gives you time to speak to your references about the job you’re applying for and to get their permission before sharing their details.

To the Editor, THE latest revelations again highlight flawed priorities in the Murray-Darling Basin Plan. Concerns from one end of the system to the other have been raised about flow data, including inaccuracies and broken or inefficient infrastructure. In South Australia, landholders say they have “lost all faith” in the flow data which has been relied upon to keep families safe in times of high-water flow and have implored authorities to “listen to the community” who “know a lot more” because they have generations of lived experience. Meanwhile, we hear reports that vital flow measuring equipment in upstream regions failed during the 2022 flood, when it was most needed. In the Goulburn system, the best method landholders have for determining flow levels, and therefore the extent of any flooding event, is to phone neighbours. This is despite several inquiries over more than a decade that have identified the need for improved metering and installation of new gauges. The entire Basin Plan is predicated on specific flow levels, even though there have been repeated warnings from those who live and breathe the system that much of the modelling on which they were based was inaccurate. We desperately need someone with the political courage to stand up and say, “something is not right here” and demand an open and transparent inquiry into the Basin Plan’s flaws and how to fix them. One thing

is for certain, buying more water to store in dams and thus exacerbate flood risk is not the answer. Yours, Sue Braybon Tocumwal, NSW

POWER OUTAGES CONCERN

To the Editor, THANK you to everyone who has contacted me about the recent power outages and I’m sorry if there have been any delays getting back to you about this. Like many of you, these outages have reached my home and I understand how frustrating it can be. These outages, and AusNet’s role in them, is something that I have been working on over the course of my time in Parliament, even before the most recent string of power outages. I have engaged with AusNet on multiple occasions already regarding the outages and continue to do so to ensure we can resolve these issues. While AusNet is a private entity rather than a government one, the outages and the impact on residents and businesses have been completely unacceptable. Following my first conversations with AusNet, I was disappointed in their response that only acknowledged the outages themselves and not the efforts to develop mitigation measures to prevent this from happening again. I have since requested an in-person meeting to discuss their investment plan to upgrade their infrastructure and prevent these outages.

Should there be limitations on this investment, I will certainly be asking to see if there is anything the State and Federal Governments can do to assist. While this is predominantly an issue falling under the Federal Government’s purview, I will continue to ensure our community can have access to reliable power. Regardless, when Parliament resumes in February, these outages will be my number one priority to raise. This will include raising

the matter with the Minister for Consumer Affairs to work towards a solution. This has also been an issue I have raised with our state-wide media connections on a weekly basis and will continue to do so until everyone understands the impact these outages are having. Serving up cheers THE AUSTRALIAN Open has finished up for the year, with the popular tennis tou r n a ment br i ng i ng t hou sa nd s of attendees, including a group of keen participants from Connect GV. Rob Goulding, Mathew Bush and Brad McGillivray enjoyed playing table tennis and made the most of the misty fans in the summer heat. While they were watching the Women’s Australia v. Israel match,

Bushy got the crowd going by yelling, “Aussie, Aussie, Aussie, Oi! Oi! Oi!” Connect GV is a registered N DIS provider delivering individualised options for people with disability, empowering individual growth in many different ways. The trip has run in previous years and the group thoroughly enjoyed their experience and look forward to coming back in future with their support team.

A million

make the run through the park

PERSONAL BESTS… Shepparton parkrun has recently celebrated 10 years of local events, while parkrun Australia welcomed its millionth participant over the weekend. Pictured are Brendan Peel, Jodi Mazey, Sarah Langley and Carolyn McRae. Brendan and Jodi were visitors during the birthday week, but Brendan was involved in bringing parkrun to Shepparton by introducing Allan Connolly to parkrun at Albert Park where they are from. 1,000,000 AUSTRALIANS officially beat pavements across the country for parkrun Australia last weekend. The free community events are held on Saturday mornings where runners and walkers of all abilities can get out and about in an event that mixes fitness, fun and socialisation. T he m i l l ion m i le stone come s ju st we ek s a f ter Shepparton’s Parkrun celebrated 10 years on Saturday, January 13. With numbers exceeding 200 runners on any given Saturday. In that time the community club has seen many individual runners complete 25 and 50 runs around

the lake, with a dedicated few jogging on to 100 and beyond. It was Raymond Cilia’s 200th parkrun on their 10th birthday, an incredible milestone for the local. “Running is going through a rosy period at the moment and numbers at many parkruns are up, and in some cases creating attendance records. At Shepparton the last two weeks we've had 282 and 278 people participating (our attendance record is 298) and 12 volunteers each week,” said Chelsea Nicholson. Shepparton parkrun takes off from the shelter near the

southern end of Victoria Park Lake next to SAM at 8am and heads north following the path to the northernmost point of the park. Runners continue on to cross the start/ finish line, then do two laps of Victoria Park Lake in a clockwise direction. Afterwards the runners, joggers, walkers, and the very deserving volunteers who make the event happen each week, head to Stanley's Cafe for a chat and coffee at a more leisurely pace. To get involved check out Shepparton parkrun on Facebook.
