$1.5M rail trail to become reality M U RCH ISON and Rushworth will become connected by the long-awaited Murchison Rail Trail, which is set to become a reality thanks to $1.5M in Federal funding. Shepparton set to “illuminate” at exciting festival coming this March SHEPPARTON will light up at the end of the month with an exciting new major event that is set to join the 2022 Shepparton Festival program. The SAM Precinct and Victoria Lake Park will come to life for ‘Illuminate,’ a t wo-day celebration of the new Shepparton Art Museum (SAM) and the region’s creativity, innovation, and perseverance. Mayor, Cr Kim O’Keeffe said 2022 was shaping up to be a landmark year. She said, “This is a very exciting announcement for our leading innovative city with what will be a spectacular twoday light festival. The festival will provide even more reasons for people to visit our region as part of the Shepparton Festival.” “The Shepparton Festival is about connecting our communit y to the thriving arts and culture scene in the region, and Illuminate will be a wonderful addition to create a full sensory experience incorporating lights, music, and food in a new way celebrating our new SAM and Victoria Lake Park.” Continued Page 5 CELEBRATING CREATIVITY...
