Starting his first business, Angelo admits he was 'very green' as a business owner. However, his hunger for success and relentless determination have been instrumental in propelling GV Hydraulink to its current status as a top hydraulic company in the GV. “I learned on the job and was driven by my desire to succeed,” he shares. One of the company's strength lies in its relationships with major suppliers, enabling
them to undertake offshore ventures. From delivering power packs to France to a mooring winch to Dubai, GV Hydraulink's versatility, flexibility, and world-class knowledge have been recognised globally. Despite the inevitable ups and downs, Angelo wouldn't hesitate to encourage others to follow their passions. “It can be lonely, but find an outlet,” he advises. “I would absolutely do it all again if age was on my side,” he chuckles. Reflecting on his journey, he adds, “There's nothing better than someone saying it can't be done, but you've done it,”

A N G ELO Po p p a , co - ow n e r a n d managing director of GV Hydraulink, embarked on his first business venture with a rundown business and a dream. Today, his hydraulic company is a success story in Shepparton, with a team of eight and clients across the globe. Angelo’s commitment to his team and clients has been instrumental in his success. "Good key staff is paramount. Treat them well, and they'll do the same for you," he advises. Despite the challenges, Angelo wouldn't hesitate to do it all over again. His mantra for success? "There's nothing better than someone saying it can't be done, but you've done it," he states.
THE steadfast operations manager at GV Hydraulink, has been a part of the company's journey since day one. He has witnessed firsthand the remarkable transformation of the business under the leadership of Angelo and Lynda Poppa. "It's been a good experience," Trevor reflects. "I've seen the business grow from a dingy old shed to a state-of-theart workshop." For 15 years, Trevor has been a key player in the company's success, watching as the Poppas have taken the business to new heights. "Ang and Lyn are great bosses," he adds, appreciating their leadership and vision. Despite living in Kyabram, Trevor has been more than happy to travel to work every day, a testament to his dedication and the positive work environment at GV Hydraulink.
THE dynamic company manager of GV Hydraulink, is celebrating a significant milestone. For 20 years, she has been at the helm of the business, steering it towards success with her husband, Angelo. "It's been a challenging but incredibly rewarding journey," Lynda shares. "I wasn't trained for this role, but I was thrown into it and it's been a great learning curve." Lynda's humble beginnings have led to a thriving business, a testament to her adaptability and tenacity. Over the years, she has mastered the systems of running a business and made numerous friends along the way. "Every challenge we faced was an opportunity to learn and grow," she adds.
Ian Wisely Workshop manager IAN started working at GV Hydraulink in 2005 as an adult apprentice. After successfully completing his apprenticeship Ian excelled with his experience and knowledge and fulfilled the workshop manager position. With Ian’s excellent communication skills and the ability to work with all levels of staff and customers, Ian plays an integral role at GV Hydraulink.
