Neville Leeson, personal ministry's leader for the Lismore Church, who has been running the CHIP program for the past 12 years in the area, organised the event as an opportunity to promote health and community outreach.
Twelve guests enjoyed a relaxing and friendly atmosphere at the event promoting plantbased eating. Classical piano music filled the air as a variety of vegan entrees, main dishes, and desserts were served, including nut roast, curries, and meatless meatballs. Mr Leeson took the opportunity to speak about the benefits of a plant-based diet, and each guest received copies of the delicious recipes to take home. Additional free resources were also available for those interested in learning more about the health benefits of plant-based eating.
The service concluded with inspiring sermonettes from three teens, who shared their personal experiences of God's grace and redemption, using the stories of Jacob, David, and Simon Peter. Poems about grace were also read. The children's performances left a lasting impact on attendees, reminding everyone of the boundless grace of God, filling the church with joy and enthusiasm.
The luncheon was a resounding success, highlighting the importance of a healthy lifestyle and the power of food to bring people together, while also fostering connections within the community. The event also provided inspiration and motivation for attendees to embrace a plant-based lifestyle. A heartfelt thanks goes to Mr Leeson and the dedicated volunteers for making this wonderful event possible, and for their continued support in promoting healthier living.
