Adventists Take Over Catholic Church

God is pouring His blessing out on the Newcastle church plant. There is now a core group of about twenty-five people meeting together each Sabbath afternoon or evening. Homes are opening for Bible studies with nineteen nonAdventists receiving Bible studies and six small groups meeting each week.

The St Marks Catholic chapel, on Laing Street, off the Hunter Street mall in Newcastle, will soon become an evangelistic centre where the Bible will have centre stage. Changes in the building will have to take place including the removal of the confessional box. Mike Robinson, pastor of the church plant, says, “We want this to be the centre of a spiritual revolution taking place in Newcastle.”

The church plant will begin meeting in this

building in early June. It is hoped that all the churches in Newcastle will soon receive a real shot in the arm with the All Power Seminar to be conducted by Pastor Leo Schreven at the Panthers Club, King Street, Newcastle West, 7-9 August and then again in early 2010.

As this is a new church local funds are nonexistent, but Conference tithes and offerings are being used to establish this new congregation, which we believe will become the centre of an evangelistic explosion in Newcastle. Thank you for your faithful giving that enables God’s work to continue with strong resources. The challenges are great but God has led every step, and we know that He will not let us down.
