SPACEFOREUR-AF commander speaks at Space Defense, Security Summit by U.S. Space Forces Europe and Space Forces Africa Staff Brig. Gen. Christopher Fernengel, U.S. Space Forces Europe and Space Forces Africa commander, addressed European and international defense leaders, industry representatives and partners at the Space Defense and Security Summit in Paris, Sept. 15. “Space is a warfighting domain. Full stop,” Fernengel said. “The space components are using the tried-and-true methods of providing service warfighters to combatant commands to integrate, synchronize and execute operations. The culture of these units of action have transitioned from a support mindset to a warfighting mindset and they now eat, breathe and live through joint functions and our hungry to effectively close friendly kill chains, while maintaining the ability to disrupt the adversary’s kill chains. Fernengel discussed the importance of resilient and interoperable space capabilities, how the command provides combat power to allies and the joint force. Additionally, he met one on one with representatives from Belgium, Netherlands, France and Germany. “We must drive toward true operational integration,” Fernengel said. “We are stronger together, but we must mature and evolve as a collective. True integration means resolving two highly difficult areas well before a crisis begins: authorities and targeting. Finally, Fernengel underscored the importance of connecting technical innovation to operational needs. He said industry

Army medical Soldier powers all-Army women’s softball team to championship Story & photo by Kirk Frady Medical Readiness Command, Europe An Army physical therapy technician stationed in Germany helped power the U.S. Army Women’s Soft ball Team to a first-place finish at the 2026 Armed Forces Women’s Softball Championships held recently in Oklahoma City. Sgt. Summer Feathers, a 68F physical therapy technician assigned to the U.S. Army Health Clinic Stuttgart, joined fellow Soldierathletes from across the globe to claim the Department of Defense’s top softball title at the USA Softball Hall of Fame Complex. The annual tournament, part of the Armed Forces Sports program, gathers top athletes from the Army, Navy (including the Coast Guard), and Air Force (including the Space Force) to promote fitness, competition, and service pride. Feathers, a native of Altoona, Pennsylvania, who enlisted in 2021, brings a lifelong athletic pedigree to the sport. “I played baseball with metal and wooden bats starting when I was 5 years old,” Feathers said. “I started playing competitive softball in high school at age 16 in 10th grade. After playing softball all three years in high school, I continued playing at the college level for Penn State University.” Her military athletic journey accelerated two years ago when she sought higher competition. “In 2024 I learned that the Army offered a higher level of competitive sports, and I wanted to challenge myself beyond unit softball,” Feathers said. “I applied in the spring and was selected for team tryouts that summer. I gave it my all and earned a spot on the AllArmy women’s softball team, giving me the opportunity to represent the Army and compete against other military branches during the Armed Forces National Championship tour-

nament at the Hall of Fame softball stadium in Oklahoma City.” Feathers has now competed on the All-Army team for three consecutive years, amassing one silver and two gold medals. “It has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my Army career,” she said. For Feathers, being on the winning team carries deep personal and professional significance. “Being selected for the All-Army Women’s softball team is a great honor,” Feathers said. “It gives me the opportunity to represent the United States Army at a high level while competing alongside some of the Army’s best athletes. It also reflects discipline, dedication, and teamwork that I have developed throughout my brief military career.” Defending the title demanded rigorous sacrifice both on and off the field. “Winning the gold medal means that all the hard work, dedication, and sacrifices I put in during the off-season and throughout the season paid off,” Feathers added. “Being able to accomplish that with my team and earning our second consecutive gold medal makes it even more meaningful. It’s a reflection of the commitment and teamwork we put into it all season long.” Feathers noted that her civilian and military athletic experiences continue to enhance her duties as a Soldier. “Playing sports taught me how to stay disciplined, work as a team, handle pressure, and keep pushing myself when things get difficult,” Feathers said. “It helped me grow more confident, build lasting relationships, and become a better Soldier and teammate. I thank God for giving me the opportunity and the abilities to play at this level and represent the United States Army on and off the field as a Soldier athlete.”

Twenty-one U.S. service members traveled to Germany to participate in a three-week military reserve exchange with the German Armed Forces, Sept. 8-26, strengthening interoperability and building relationships between U.S. and German reserve forces. Participants from the National Guard, Marine Corps Reserve and Navy Reserve represented Montana, Michigan, Idaho, Alaska, Puerto Rico, Virginia, Maryland, Minnesota, Ohio, New York and Wisconsin, during the annual exchange. The engagement began in Potsdam, Sept. 8 with a welcome and mission brief from Brig. Gen. Stefan Gruhl, commander, Bundeswehr Joint Force Command Operational Communications Center, emphasizing the importance of this partnership due to ongoing operations in the European theater. Participants also visited the German Armed Forces Forest of Remembrance, a memorial honoring German service members who died while serving their country. Trees within the memorial grounds have been planted by family members in remembrance of their loved ones. U.S. service members then tested their physical and military skills while completing events associated with the German Armed Forces Proficiency Badge. Events included a 12-kilometer ruck march, 100meter agility shuttle run, 1,000meter run, 100-meter swim in military uniform, flexed-arm hang, and

firearms qualification. Those who successfully met the requirements earned the opportunity to wear the German Armed Forces Proficiency Badge on their U.S. military uniforms in accordance with their respective service regulations. Participants also visited the German Army Officer School in Dresden, where they learned about German military leadership, training, tactics and operations. The exchange gave participants an opportunity to compare approaches and better understand how partner forces train and operate together. “Interoperability begins with understanding. This includes understanding each other’s training, capabilities and ways of operating,” said German Air Force Maj. Silas Scherer, German Air Force basic training staff officer. “This exchange gives participants the opportunity to learn from one another and build the familiarity needed to operate effectively together.” During the final two weeks of the program, participants separated into smaller groups based on their military branch, component and occupational specialties. They joined German units throughout the country, including locations near Munich, Berlin, Nuremberg, Kiel, and Hamburg, for more specialized exchanges focused on their respective career fields. Activities included observing a joint German-Swiss Air Force helicopter exercise, participating in small-arms tactics and simulator training, unmanned aircraft system training, working with German armored units, conducting aircraft simulator training, and participat-

ing in naval ship and damagecontrol simulator training. The smaller exchanges also provided opportunities for U.S. and German service members to build professional relationships beyond formal training. Outside scheduled military engagements, participants experienced German history and cultural events alongside their hosts. These experiences provided additional opportunities for U.S. and German service members to connect personally, while learning more about their respective cultures. “The most impactful part of this program is the relationships formed between our U.S. and German reserve service members,” said German Navy Lt. Cmdr. William Lobert, German Armed Forces military reserve exchange program manager. “Those connections make future cooperation easier, because participants leave with a better understanding of their counterparts and professional relationships that continue long after the exchange ends.” The exchange concluded in Frankfurt Sept. 26, where U.S. participants and their German counterparts reunited before departing for their home units. The Military Reserve Exchange Program is an annual program that provides opportunities for U.S. reserve component service members and international partners from various backgrounds to exchange professional knowledge, strengthen military-to-military relationships and improve interoperability between allied forces.

FEDERWEISSER FEST OCT. 15 – 18, CITY CENTER, LANDAU

Your golden autumn moment in Landau, forget Oktoberfest! Here in Landau, we celebrate autumn in our very own way. When the sea of vines around the city is bathed in golden light and the scent of fresh grapes drifts through the streets, you know: it’s finally time for the original again. While elsewhere people are already pulling out their umbrellas, we enjoy the mild sunshine here. Autumn in the Palatinate is simply the best time of the year: the “Keschde” (chestnuts) are ripe, the grape harvest is in full swing, and the city glows in warm colors. In our rustic festival stalls, the winemakers serve what everyone has been waiting for: the sparkling, sweet Federweißer. Why you have to be there: It’s that very special feeling – a mix of lively atmosphere, infectious music, and the aroma of freshly baked Palatinate onion cake. Sit down, toast with a glass of new wine, and just let everyday life take a break. As the Palatinate folks say: ‘You have to celebrate festivals as they come – and best of all with a glass in hand!’ And that’s exactly what we do here, together with around 100,000 other fans who make this festival the absolute highlight in the south of the Palatinate. And while you’re there, use the opportunity for early seasonal shopping on Sunday! “THE SHOOFLIES” CONCERT OCT. 16, 7.30 P.M., CITY/THEODOR ZINK MUSEUM, KAISERSLAUTERN

They play traditional folk music in Pennsylvania Dutch, a German dialect that has been preserved in the region for over three centuries. The band consists of Brigitte and Erika, who were born and raised in the heart of Berks County. With their own arrangements and expressive four-part vocal harmonies, they bring these songs to life in a lively way. Their work has received great recognition on both sides of the Atlantic, including being named ‘Hiwwe wie Driwwe Artist of the Year 2025.’ Their 2025 tour in Germany was marked by sold-out concerts and excellent reviews – now they’re coming back by popular demand. River Nile

Story & photos by Gina Hutchins-Inman 86th Airlift Wing Public Affairs Rolling down the river Germany is threaded with rivers — many within a short drive of the Kaiserslautern Military Community and countless others that invite exploration. They weave together history, scenic towns and countless places to discover, perfect for adventures in spring, summer and autumn. The Moselle winds past vineyards, castles and picturesque towns such as Trier, Bernkastel‑Kues and Cochem before meeting the Rhine at Koblenz. The Rhine itself is famed for Rüdesheim, the dramatic Lorelei cliff, major cities like Cologne and Düsseldorf, and more than 40 castles that line its banks. But when the days start to turn cool and gray, a change of pace can be just what you need. Think pyramids, ancient temples, millennia of history and stunning scenery. How about a Nile cruise leaving the cold behind, soaking up some sun, and exploring the past? Cairo, pyramids and Tutankhamun Cairo is Egypt’s largest city and its capital, sitting just south of the Nile Delta and in the middle of the desert, was founded around 969. It mixes ancient and modern Egypt, bustling streets beside centuriesold sites. Locals often call it Misr (the Egyptian Arabic name) or al‑Qahirah (“the Vanquisher”). Its population is estimated at about 13 million. Ideal as starting point for a journey through ancient history, the three Great Pyramids of Giza were erected during Egypt’s fourth dynasty, roughly between 2580 and 2510 BC. Khufu’s (Cheops) pyramid, Khafre (Chephren) and Menkaure, the smallest. The Great Sphinx of Giza, which has kept a watchful eye on things, is believed to have been built during the Old Kingdom, around 2500 BC. A visit to the New Egyptian Museum drops you into a whole section just for Tutankhamun, his tomb, found in 1922, is on display with his coffins, shrine, fur-

niture, a chariot and personal belongings. The museum also holds more than 220,000 ancient artifacts and statues, plus two impressively well‑preserved boats recovered from another burial. Stop by Ataba Square, Cairo’s biggest market and also home to the National Theater. Wander the old alleys, visit one of the famous mosques, two large Coptic churches, or a synagogue, sip mint tea or mocha, soak up 1,400 years of history, and finish with a peaceful walk along the green‑lined Nile. Start your cruise in Cairo or take a sleeper train or short flight to Luxor and board one of the 400 Nile cruise ships. Drift past lush green riverbanks framed by mountains and sand dunes, with millennia of history unfolding along the shores. Temples and the Valley of Kings The temples from Luxor to Aswan are a testament to the rich history and architectural marvels of ancient Egypt. They offer a glimpse into the daily life and religious beliefs of ancient Egyptians, a must-visit destination for anyone traveling. East Bank temples include Karnak Tempel, the largest religious complex, built over 1,500–2,000 years by 30 different pharaohs. Highlights include the towering Hypostyle Hall, the obelisk of River Nile

Hatshepsut, and the Avenue of Sphinxes connecting it to Luxor Temple. Early morning visits are recommended, while a sound & light show offers a dramatic evening experience. Luxor Temple was founded around 1400 BC and dedicated to the Theban Triad: Amun, Mut, and Khonsu. During the Opet Festival statues of the gods were paraded from Karnak. The temple features columns of varying heights, and layers of construction from different eras, including Roman and Islamic influences. The Temple of Hatshepsut (Deir elBahari) on the west bank is a temple honoring one of Egypt’s few female pharaohs. Its terraces, colonnades, and integration into the cliffside make it architecturally stunning. The Colossi of Memnon, two massive figures mark the entrance to Amenhotep III’s mortuary complex and are a must-see for their scale and historical significance. In the Valley of the Kings nearby you’ll find about 63 known tombs. This was the main burial ground for pharaohs and high nobles during Egypt’s New Kingdom (18th–20th dynasties). Edfu Temple is a well‑preserved Ptolemaic temple dedicated to Horus, a great example of ancient Egyptian architecture and religious life. Kom Ombo is an unusual double temple that honors both Sobek and Horus, with separate courts and sanctuaries for each. It also has a Crocodile Museum with mummified crocodiles and related artifacts, and you can simply step off the ship and walk right into the temple. As you roll further along the river, the journey ends at Aswan, with even more sites. The unfinished obelisk, which would have been the largest ever, can be visited there. A felucca will take you to Kitchener Island with a stunning botanical garden, and you can round off your tour with a ride around Elephantine Island with a Nubian village, a beach and a view of the Old Cataract Hotel, where author Agatha Christie lived for three years, and was possibly inspired to write “Death on the Nile.” The Aswan High Dam, officially opened

in 1971, has since become a significant engineering and economic project in Egypt. The Abu Simbel temples were relocated between 1964 and 1968, led by a German company. The monumental effort was undertaken to save the temples from being submerged by the rising waters of Lake Nasser in a joint venture including engineers from 50 different nations. Philae Temple was mainly built during the Ptolemaic era around 285–246 BC. and originally sat on a nearby island. In 537 AD it was converted into a Christian church. Between 1972 and 1980 it was carefully moved, and reconstruction on Agilkia Island was carried out by a French team. If you wish to visit the Nubian Temple of Dendur, you’ll have to travel to New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art. Originally located further south, it was donated to the museum after being saved from flooding. After soaking in all these sites, kick back with a cool drink on board, or keep the vacation going at Red Sea beach towns like Hurghada or Sharm El Sheikh for a round of snorkeling, diving or just sunbathing on the sandy beaches and relaxing after days of historical wonders. Good day and a warm welcome to our guests from around the world! It is a pleasure to welcome you on behalf of the entire team. From corporal to chief: Ramirez builds a career in Signal Story & photos by Staff Sgt. Daniel Yeadon 21st Theater Sustainment Command Jessie M. Ramirez was preparing to apply for Officer Candidate School when her mentor suggested becoming a warrant officer instead. She almost chose not to apply. The corporal had a computer science degree and a plan, but little understanding of warrant service. Conversations with her mentor, Chief Warrant Officer 2 Derick Struble, changed her mind. In 2023, she applied through a pilot program that offered junior Signal Soldiers an opportunity to become warrant officers. Ramirez was promoted to chief warrant officer 2 during an Oct. 1, ceremony at Millrinder Hall on Panzer Kaserne. As a data operations warrant officer assigned to the 21st Theater Sustainment Command, Ramirez tests communications services with NATO partners and maintains systems that help logistics personnel track assets across the theater. Born in the United States and raised in Ecuador, Ramirez wanted to join the Army after high school. Her grandfather and three uncles had served in Ecuador’s military. Her father once told her she would end up in the military because of her discipline. Her mother asked her to finish college first. Ramirez completed her computer science degree in Ecuador and enlisted at 25. After discussing her background and available jobs with a recruiter, she chose to become an information technology specialist.

U.S. Army Chief Warrant Officer 2 Jessie M. Ramirez, a data operations warrant officer assigned to the 21st Theater Sustainment Command, receives her new rank insignia from her husband, John, during her promotion ceremony at Millrinder Hall on Panzer Kaserne, Kaiserslautern, Oct. 1. Ramirez was selected as a corporal through a pilot program that offered junior Signal Soldiers an opportunity to become warrant officers.

Her first assignment took her to Camp Humphreys, South Korea. Her second brought her to the Joint Mission Operations Center–Georgia at Fort Gordon, where she worked as a system administrator supporting cyber operations. She also became a trainer for a platform used by the organization. Ramirez said that responsibility helped build her confidence and introduced her work to leaders who later supported her application. Watching Struble work and discussing his responsibilities helped her understand warrant service. He encouraged her to apply and helped her prepare her packet. Chief Warrant Officer 5 Brandon Wilson, senior technical advisor for

U.S. Army Europe-Africa G-6, was involved in the Signal accession process when Ramirez applied. Wilson said the pilot allowed qualified junior Signal Soldiers to apply without the years of NCO evaluations expected through the traditional pathway. Applicants still needed to meet technical requirements. To identify candidates, Wilson relied on warrant officers who observed Soldiers’ work firsthand. “I trust boots on the ground,” Wilson said. Struble’s endorsement carried weight because Wilson knew him as a former student. Ramirez’s education, test scores and endorsements from senior leaders also distinguished her application, Wilson said. While preparing her application, Ramirez worked as a translator during a temporary duty assignment. She said she received a letter of recommendation from

Maj. Gen. William Hartman, then commander of the Cyber National Mission Force. Ramirez prepared for warrant officer training by researching requirements, asking questions and working with NCOs on her physical readiness. Public speaking and the expectations of her new role were among her concerns. When selection results were released, she was at home trying to access them online. Before she could confirm the result herself, a leader called to congratulate her. Her husband, John, was the first person she told. Becoming a warrant officer required another adjustment. Ramirez said she had to move beyond waiting for instructions and take responsibility for identifying and solving problems. She also learned that technical expertise did not mean having every answer. “You’re not going to know

everything,” Ramirez said. Chief Warrant Officer 3 Jonathan Davis, a data operations warrant officer assigned to the 21st TSC communications team, said he reinforced that expectation when she arrived. He mentored her while assigning projects that challenged her to develop. One assignment placed Ramirez in charge of the team’s technical preparation and execution during Coalition Warrior Interoperability eXploration 2026, or CWIX, in Poland, Davis said. She configured email and useraccess services for testing with multinational partners. The tests examined whether personnel using different nations’ systems could communicate and collaborate. The work required Ramirez to apply her technical knowledge beyond the systems used by her own command, testing connections with partners whose personnel would need to work together. “Jessie was instrumental,” Davis said, crediting her work throughout the three-warrant-officer team’s planning cycle and execution. Her responsibilities also include developing servers that support the command’s tactical communications and maintaining applications used by logistics personnel, Davis said. Those applications help personnel track and display information about assets moving through the theater. While handling those duties, Ramirez completed a graduate degree in cloud computing, according to Davis. At her promotion ceremony, Ramirez thanked her family, Soldiers, peers and mentors who had taught, challenged and supported her. She also recognized her husband’s patience, including the evenings when she came home still thinking about work. “This promotion belongs to you too,” she told him. Ramirez now helps other Soldiers understand the responsibilities and opportunities of warrant service. She connected an NCO interested in the 255S specialty with warrant officers who could share their experiences and provide guidance. She also mentors a specialist interested in becoming a warrant officer, sharing what she has learned about the role, technical leadership and taking responsibility for solving problems. In Georgia, a mentor helped Ramirez understand a career she had nearly passed up. Now she helps other Soldiers explore that same opportunity.

TRAFFIC LIGHTS by German-American Community Office Turning at traffic lights in Germany is a little bit different than in the US. But don’t worry, we’ve got your back! There are two different green arrows that indicate how and when you can make a turn at a red light.

Scenario 1: Red traffic light and green metal arrow. In this scenario, you are allowed to make a right turn on the right lane even though the traffic light is red. You do not have to, though! When you do, your car must come to a standstill at the line for 3 seconds and you need to yield to other participants in traffic. Pay special attention to other cars, cyclists, and pedestrians. If there is no danger to other members of traffic, you can make the turn.

Scenario 2: Red traffic light and green arrow within the traffic light. In this scenario, you can make a right turn without stopping at the line. This green light arrow also gives you the right of way and you do not have to yield to other members of traffic.

As always, not adhering to German traffic regulations is fined. Up to € 70 and one point against your license if you don’t stop at the line in the metal arrow scenario 1. If you endanger someone, the fine goes up. At least € 118.50 and one point against your license if you run a red light. If you endanger other traffic, fines go up and your license will be suspended.

Scenario 3: Red traffic light and no arrow. Whenever there is a red traffic light that does not have a green arrow attached, you cannot make a right turn. You must stop at the traffic light until it turns green. Once the light turns green, you can make a turn but must yield to oncoming straight traffic. Mental grit propels champions at 2026 Air Force Marathon by Megan Purves 88th Air Base Wing Every mile of a race is a physical negotiation — a stark reminder that while the human body has limits, the mind can be trained to push past them. More than 9,000 people across 50 states registered for the 2026 Air Force Marathon, testing their mental and physical endurance across several race categories Sept. 18-19. Races took place at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, and outside of the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force at WrightPatterson Air Force Base, and Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio. Leading the charge were full marathon champions Space Force 1st Lt. Nicholas McKenzie, assigned to Vandenberg Space Force Base, California, with a time of 2:34:31, and Kayla Rice, a Wright-Patterson Air Force Base employee, with a time of 2:56:39. “I’m ecstatic — it’s a great day with super energy out on the course and beautiful weather,” McKenzie said. “This is my second time running the Air Force Marathon, and I’m super grateful for all the volunteers, the support and all the other runners out here getting it done today.” However, for McKenzie, the mental turning point came during the race’s most solemn stretch. “Around mile 21, it definitely starts to get hard. But running and seeing the tributes to our fallen service members was emotional and heartwarming. It really helped me stay motivated to get to the end,” he said. “Seeing that helps you realize the ultimate sacrifice they gave, and it motivated me to dig a little deeper.” For Rice, crossing the finish line as the women’s champion marked the culmination of years of dedicated training right on her home base at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.

“I feel incredible. This has been a goal I've been working toward for the past few years, and it’s great to finally achieve it,” Rice said. “This is my fourth time running it, so every year it’s been my goal to just get a little bit faster and eventually get where I am today. It was a big personal record for me, and getting to see all my friends, family, coworkers and teammates out on the course was amazing.” Sharing the spotlight were half-marathon champions Simon Heys, a civilian runner at 1:05:45, and Air Force 2nd Lt. Allyson Peterson, assigned to Ramstein Air Base, with a time of 1:19:10.

For Heys, pushing through the half-marathon course was a personal way to show gratitude for military service members. “It was special,” Heys said. “I really wanted to come here and just run as hard as I could. I wanted to put the grind out there, like the men and women who fight for this country do every day.” Peterson, competing in her first half marathon, relied on strategic pacing and late-race momentum to win. “I’ve been looking forward to this race,” she said. “I had a great group of guys to chase coming down for the last like 6 miles. So, I was

just focusing on closing that gap.” Beyond individual determination on the course, Air Force leaders underscored how physical discipline and community support directly reinforce the strength and readiness of the joint force. “If I have one message for you today, thank you for showing up to do hard things,” said Matthew L. Lohmeier, Air Force undersecretary. “Thank you for working together as a community, both to support the 30th Air Force Marathon and to make the Department of the Air Force and the entire joint force a better place to work, a more lethal, ready force. And thank you for taking care of yourselves to be a part of our ready force.” As the cheers from the finish line festival filled the air and the champions took their places at the awards ceremony, the legacy of the 2026 race extended beyond the trophy stands. For the thousands who crossed the finish line, the race was more than an athletic showcase. It was a masterclass in mental readiness, proving that when the mission demands endurance, disciplined preparation always carries you through. ZWEIBRÜCKEN from Page 1 Zweibrücken Castle

a very interesting mélange of sightseeing opportunities. Plus, you get to visit a city that begins with the letter Z, which doesn’t happen every day! Zweibrücken: Six reasons to go 1. Hiking and biking The area surrounding Zwei brücken is lovely. Opportunities for hiking and biking abound during all seasons, and there are even winter hiking options. Look for caves, springs, and cool geological formations made from limestone and sandstone.

4. Shopping When shops are open, Zweibrücken is a great destination. You can find the popular outlet mall Zweibrücken Fashion Outlet there, and the city center is well worth your time. Be sure to check out the pig statues on the Hallplatz,

which commemorate the site of a former pig market. 5. History with a royal twist Zweibrücken was once the seat of the Duchy of PalatinateZweibrücken, and its Baroque past is still visible in the streets and buildings. Start at the Herzogschloss, or Ducal Castle, a landmark built in the 18th century, then explore the elegant

Herzogsvorstadt district, where grand buildings reflect the city’s former royal connections. You can also look for the historic Karlskirche, commissioned by Sweden’s King Charles XII in 1705. Who knew one small German city could have such international connections? Take a leisurely walk through the center, keep your eyes open for architectural details, and imagine what

Zweibrücken City Hall

life was like when dukes and their courts called this place home. 6. Local flavors and market finds Plan your visit around Zwei brücken’s weekly market, held on Alexanderplatz on Saturday mornings. Local producers from the Palatinate, Saarland, and neighboring regions bring fresh foods and seasonal specialties. Depending on the season, you might find asparagus, strawberries, honey, and fresh flowers, alongside regional dishes such as Dampfnudeln, soft steamed dough buns, and Saumagen, a traditional Palatinate specialty.

The One Thing You Have to See: Zweibrücken Rose Garden Log this one away with your hopes for spring. The Zweibrücken

Rose Garden, which is open from April to November, is excellent. Located on a sprawling tree- and pond-filled space in the middle of the city, the Rose Garden is perfect for flower lovers. It will also delight people who are less than excited at the prospect of flowers. During ordinary times, the Rose Garden is home to a number of cultural and artistic events. It’s definitely worth your time to visit. When everything is blooming, there are few parks that are more beautiful than this one. Getting There By car, Zweibrücken is 40 minutes southwest of Kaiserslautern, 1.5 hours south of Wiesbaden, and 2.5 hours northwest of Stuttgart. Please check with Deutsche Bahn for train information.

3. Water, in all its forms Zweibrücken loves water. There are lakes, swimming pools and spas. There are also lots of winter water opportunities — usually in the form of ice skating, sledding, and cross-country skiing.

2. Horses Horses are a big deal in Zwei brücken. If you love horses, this is the place for you. It often has equestrian events, and there is even an Icelandic Horse Center, which is as cool as it sounds. Even if horses aren’t ordinarily your thing, you’ll still come away impressed by the beauty of the creatures you’ll find there. Rides and riding lessons are available for riders of all levels.

Stitch Head (2025)

THE SOCIAL RECKONING (2026)

A mad professor’s forgotten creation, Stitch Head, protects his family of frightened monsters in their castle. But when a sly carnival owner named Mr. Freakfinder offers him fame and fortune, will Stitch Head accept and leave his family helpless against a mob of local townspeople?

Inspired by true events and the whistleblower behind today’s social media reckoning, this Aaron Sorkin original screenplay is a companion piece to The Social Network. In this David and Goliath story, young Facebook engineer Frances Haugen (Madison) enlists Wall Street Journal reporter Jeff Horwitz (White) on a dangerous journey to expose the social network’s most guarded secrets.
