USO presents CJCS Holiday Tour Wednesday Courtesy of 86th Airlift Wing Public Affairs The United Service Organiz ations recently announced who would accompany the Chairman of the J oint Chiefs of Staff, Gen. J oseph F. Dunford J r., during this year’s Holiday Tour when it comes to Ramstein Wednesday. The host of this year’s show is actress Eliz abeth a s e er a es a itc er ect, who will introduce the musical acts, which include: rocker Chris Daughtry and country singers Kyle J acobs, Brett J ames, and Billy Montana.
Stand-up comic Sydney Castillo and writer, direct r a i ai e es a et t erica er i r i e t e c e y Steven Wright and Heath Hembree, pitchers for the Boston Red Sox, will also be on the tour. The free show starts at 5 p.m. Wednesday. It will be held in Hangar 3 on Ramstein. Doors open at 3:30 a a issi is a rst c e, rst ser e basis. Beginning at 3 p.m., a shuttle bus will be available to bring people from Ramstein’s North Chapel parking lot to the show.
The annual Holiday Tour, a j oint venture between the USO and the Chairman of the J oint Chiefs of Staff, provides U.S. military personnel and their families with free entertainment and shows while as i i erica s i est ra i i itary cer a chance to interact with service members directly. An E-3 Sentry airborne warning and control system aircraft assigned to the E-3A Component at NATO Air Base Geilenkirchen, Germany, taxis onto the Ramstein flightline Nov. 18. The NATO AWACS visited Ramstein in order to familiarize NATO Allied Air Command leadership with its capabilities, as the E-3A Component is scheduled to come under operational command of AIRCOM in fall 2016.

As part of its mission to enable theater and strategic airpower, Ramstein often acts as host to other U.S. and allied units and aircraft. On Nov. 18, Ramstein welcomed an E-3A Sentry airborne warning and control system aircraft assigned to the E-3A Component at NATO Air Base Geilenkirchen, Germany, and its crew for a visit.
