It’s not often you hear a band blasting people awake at 6 a.m., but on the occasion of the Army’s 238th Birthday, that was the case on Wiesbaden’s Clay Kaserne June 13. As members of the U.S. Army Europe Band played everybody’s favorite hits, thousands of Soldiers, Airmen and civilians warmed up for a special run to mark the occasion.

Wiesbaden military community members will have an action-packed Fourth of July week. The Independence Day bash will kick off with a grand family celebration starting at noon

on Wednesday, July 3, at the Wiesbaden Entertainment Center. The event will feature bumper cars, the hip-hop flier, drop zone, live entertainment, a tourism fair, live entertainment, food and fireworks. “It should be a great event,” said Lisa Crews, U.S. Army Garrison

Wiesbaden’s marketing director. “People can get off work and relax with family and friends at the fest. The rides are free and there will also be a variety of good-old American refreshments for sale at the event.” “There will be more live bands this year ranging from rock to
