INDULGE IN STON’S SENSATIONAL OYSTERS

Hiking Ston Walls & Oyster Tasting

Ston was built according to plans approved by the Dubrovnik government in 1335 and even today, is considered one of the best planned cities in Europe. The encircling city wall of Ston was a massive feat of engineering, originally seven kilometers long, it consists of several parts; the Ston City Walls, the Mali Ston Walls and the Big Wall with its three forts. It took almost four centuries to complete and they now stand in the 21st century as a priceless monument of immense architectural and cultural value.

Your mission today is to hike the wall, starting in Ston and covering a distance of almost 4 km over demanding terrain. From the wall you’ll enjoy incredible panoramic views over the Peljesac peninsula and Ston’s famous salt plains. You’ll climb more than 400 steps before reaching Mali Ston - the oyster capital of Croatia. Here you’ll board a boat for a ride out to the oyster and mussel beds that dot the seascape. Learn all about local oyster and mussel production and taste deliciously briny, freshly-prepared shellfish that gained an international reputation nearly a century ago.

Batana Boat Discovery

Beginning with a guided walking tour of Rovinj’s picture-postcard streets, guests explore the town’s fascinating and rich history. A trip to the Eco Batana Museum follows where the guests learn all about the traditional wooden Batana boat – a symbol of Rovinj.

To bring the stories to life, guests then embark on a cruise by batana boat to the only remaining Spacio Matika (traditional meeting place for sailors), where they’ll enjoy a delicious seafood dinner.

For a final touch of magic, Bitinadori singers will delight the group with their harmonies.

Vukovar is surrounded by beautiful green countryside home to a variety of flora and wildlife as well as a host of vineyards that produce some of Croatia’s best wines.

This tour takes in the best of it all with a scenic drive to the medieval town of Ilok where the group visits the city walls and church. At the Ilokcki Podrum Cellars, guests enjoy a wine tasting where they’ll also learn about the town’s history and economy. It’s then time for a train ride through the vineyards on the Principovac Estate, which dates back to 1864.

The former summer residence of the Odescalchi family, the estate’s panoramic views over the vineyards make the perfect backdrop for sampling the delicious sparkling wines.

A paired-back ceremony for this lovely couple made for a magical day. Hosted at a traditional restaurant, a former family home, which helped to create the intimate and charming atmosphere.

Making her entrance to the sounds of a string duo, the bride made her way to the groom on the restaurant’s terrace. Once the ceremony was complete and congratulations were shared, it was time for a glass of sparkling wine and a delicious three-course meal prepared using traditional recipes from the Dubrovnik region.
