About the song Nicolae Iancu, whose name was later changed in Nica, his stage name, was born on 21 March 1821, in a small village in Banat, România. Nica was very talented and had a rich repertoire. He played the violin, but in time, with a lot of work, he learned to play all the instruments and was part of the Timisoara orchestra. He is the author of the unofficial anthem of the city Lugoj, "Ana Lugojana" which was inspired by his daughter, Ana Lugojana, a beautiful girl. Nica died on 1903, 25 January.
