Last structural works

Although most of the structural work has been carried out, particularly on the individual buildings, two main projects are still in progress at the start of this year: the extension of the Grimaldi Forum and the public car park. Located for the most part in the “belly” of la Colline, the extension of the Grimaldi Forum has revealed itself to be a complex project using specific shoring techniques.

Des poutres crémaillères sous forme de marches permettant de former des dalles en escalier ont été imaginées pour, tout à la fois, assurer la structure et épouser la forme de la Colline. Six poutres au total sont ainsi en cours de réalisation. L’ensemble devrait être achevé avant la fin du premier semestre, permettant ainsi la mise en place de l’étanchéité, la construction de murets en pierre dont la principale fonction sera de maintenir la terre végétale, à la manière des restanques de l’arrière-pays, et enfin la plantation des grands sujets qui viendront constituer la Pinède du quartier.

Staircase beams for forming stepped slabs have been designed to strengthen the structure and follow the shape of la Colline. Thus, a total of six beams are under construction. This project should be completed before the end of the first half of the year, after which the building can be weatherproofed, stone walls can be built, whose main function will be to hold the topsoil, and lastly, the large trees can be planted, which will constitute the pine forest of the district.
