In February, Nancy moved to Birmingham from Traverse City, after living there for 25 years, to be closer her family. While in Traverse City, she learned about the tradition of basketmaking using natural materials for weaving both utilitarian and artistic creations. Before Traverse City, Nancy and her husband lived in Detroit for 30 years raising their four daughters. They enjoyed camping and sailing on Lakes Erie, Michigan and Huron. Nancy is a retired Unitarian Universalist minister, having served congregations in the Detroit area and consulted with congregations throughout MI. Over the years she has been an advocate for women’s issues, serving on the Detroit Planned Parenthood Board for several years. She continues to enjoy reading, weaving, and spending quality time with her family, including two grandsons.
