“When I toured UNC Charlotte, I really felt the personal atmosphere of the school. I felt like it had a small-school feel to it, even with how large it is… I still feel that way. Being at Charlotte has really helped me to grow as a person. I’ve been able to connect with so many types of people and create lasting friendships here. Even more than that, I’ve had the space to learn about myself and figure out what I want out of my career and life in general.
My favorite aspect of the mechanical engineering program at Charlotte is the hands-on projects built into the design courses. From machining parts to designing and building a robot, the hands-on activities are exciting and they really help to solidify the knowledge I learn in the classroom.”

My dream is to help people from all backgrounds know that even when it seems like you can’t do something, you can. It might take longer than some and you might have to work harder than some, but you can achieve your goals. I believe that UNC Charlotte gives students the opportunity to enact change all the time. This year, I have the opportunity to be an Orientation Counselor and I hope that I can encourage and excite incoming students and help them feel more comfort in their journey to Charlotte.”
