A Message from our CEO Nearly six years ago, the Resources Centre of Excellence opened its doors with a clear ambition: to create a place where industry, education, research, government and community could come together to strengthen the future of our resources sector and our region.

Since then, RCOE has grown into much more than a facility. We have welcomed thousands of people through our doors, worked with hundreds of organisations, supported training and workforce development, created opportunities for businesses to demonstrate new technologies, connected research with industry, hosted major events and expanded our capability through the Future Industries Hub and Flexi Lab. What we have learned over the years simple: when you create the right environment and bring the right people together, opportunities follow. The Isaac Resources Excellence Precinct (IREP) is the next evolution of that model. Located in Moranbah, at the heart of the Bowen Basin, IREP will bring this capability even closer to industry and the communities that support it. It is being developed as a place to work, meet, train, research, demonstrate, collaborate and innovate — but importantly, it will also be a place where new ideas and partnerships can take shape. IREP is about creating a platform for what comes next. New skills and careers. New technologies and businesses. Stronger connections between industry and education. Applied research and commercialisation. Opportunities in automation, robotics, 3D printing, 3D manufacturing, circularity, rehabilitation and other emerging areas that will influence the future of resources and resources communities. We also want IREP to be a precursor the Isaac community can be proud of — one that creates opportunity locally while connecting the region to expertise, investment and ideas from across Australia and around the world. This Expression of Interest is an invitation to be part of that journey. Whether you are looking for a flexible place to work when you are in Moranbah, somewhere to bring your team together, a permanent regional presence, a place to deliver training or undertake research, a platform to showcase your skills and knowledge. Some of the best opportunities we have created at RCOE have started with a conversation. So, if you see an opportunity for your organisation at IREP — or have an idea we haven’t considered yet — we would like to hear from you. IREP is being built for the future of the Isaac region. We invite you to help us activate it, use it and shape what comes next.
