BIG TOP PARADE

JUNE 13, 2026

The Big Top Parade returns June 13, bringing historic wagons, clowns and marching bands to the streets of downtown Baraboo. The parade highlights a day full of circus-themed fun that will include live entertainment on the downtown square before the parade, and the big top show at Circus World afterward. This year’s parade will celebrate our country’s 250 th anniversary.

HORICON MARSH WILDLIFE REFUGE

Only minutes from Beaver Dam, the Horicon Marsh is the largest freshwater marsh in the U.S. and home to over 300 bird species, 10 miles of hiking and biking trails, and 6 miles of kayak and canoe runs. AREA HIKING & BIKING TRAILS

Wild Goose State Trail is a 34-mile compact limestone biking and hiking trail on an abandoned railroad grade that traverses oak woodlots, farm fields, prairies, and sparking streams as it runs through the countryside of Dodge and Fond du Lac Counties and western edge of the Horicon Marsh.

STONEFIELD HISTORIC SITE, CASSVILLE: Located near Nelson Dewey State Park, Stonefield features a recreated 1900s rural village, the State Agricultural Museum, and the home of Wisconsin’s first governor.

WORLD’S LARGEST “M”, PLATTEVILLE: Located east of town, at the top of the Platteville Mound. Constructed of limestone and measuring 214 feet by 241 feet, the letter represents the first Mining School in the United States.

The world’s largest chain of inland freshwater lakes stretches across more than 3,000 acres and holds walleye, bass, northern pike and muskie, drawing serious anglers from across the Midwest season after season. THREE LAKES WINERY

Making the Original Wisconsin Cranberry Wine since 1972, Three Lakes Winery is the second oldest winery in Wisconsin, and a stop here has been a Northwoods tradition for generations of visitors. Tastings are free, the gift shop is stocked with wines, specialty foods and gifts worth browsing, and the setting inside an 1880 Chicago and Northwestern train depot is a reason to stop all on its own. Every wine is made from whole fruits and berries with no added flavorings or juices.

JAMES LAKE CRANBERRIES

The nation’s largest organic cranberry grower calls Three Lakes home. James Lake Cranberries opens its marsh for free farm tours during the October harvest, one of the most visually spectacular agricultural events in Wisconsin. Earlier in summer, the farm hosts pollinator events offering a rare look at the ecological side of cranberry farming.

BURNT ROLLWAYS DAM & BOAT HOIST

On Highway X, the Burnt Rollways began as a logging sluice dam in the late 1800s, its name earned from a fire that consumed stacked pine timber along the riverbank. Rebuilt in concrete by 1910 with a marine railway, electrified in 1949 and replaced with the gantry-style hoist still in use today, it keeps the Three Lakes Chain and Eagle River Chain connected via Nine Mile Creek as it has for generations.

THREE EAGLE TRAIL

A multi-use rail trail cuts through the heart of the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest, connecting Three Lakes to Eagle River along a former railroad corridor. Hike or bike it from spring through fall. In winter, the trail is used for both snowmobiling and cross-country skiing, with groomed miles accessible right from town.
