In what promises to be another record year for ADI, we also celebrate our 25th anniversary. Having been with the business for 20 years it’s fantastic to see what has been achieved; the range of famous events, global brands and federations we serve, the talented pool of employees we work with and the industry leading innovation that continues to excite and impress those around us.

The way in which LED screens are used has changed over the years ADI have been in business; still in its infancy when we began to incorporate this transformative technology into stadia and outdoor events, its applications are vast and have seen it become an incredibly versatile medium for every kind of venue and live experience. In this issue of Images you can read how it’s been integrated into public art pieces, famous sports venues and prestigious occasions.

Our continued evolution and improvement has seen valued long term customers continue to recommit the future of their world-class events to us. It’s a huge vote of confidence for clients to go through industry wide due diligence only to return to ADI. We work exceptionally hard to ensure there is no complacency with our market leading position, constantly inventing and investing to improve and expand our service for customers new and old. ADI have had a relationship with clients like Jockey Club Racing and Ascot for over ten years yet both exhaustively research the LED rental market at the end of every contract. This year JCR have committed to a further seven years with ADI and Ascot another five. These contract periods show the confidence customers have in our service, not just in 2016 but for the future, a confidence that is based on precedent from our previous delivery and knowledge that whatever the future of the industry holds, ADI are likely to be driving the changes.

At ADI we are not afraid to challenge the status quo and push for solutions that are different, bigger and better. In 2016 that approach has seen the Screen Rentals team launch the Epoch 15 and iCONIC 120SW, both world-firsts and game-changing in the market. These clever, dynamic products are helping our clients serve the ever-evolving expectations of their audiences and partners, offering second-screen solutions, more immersive event experiences and new commercial opportunities.

Thanks to the creation of new products the iCONIC fleet is now over 40 screens strong – making it by far the largest range in Europe. Extensive re-screening in 2016 also means it’s the newest too – with over 80% of the fleet less than two years old.

The team and I look forward to continuing to safely deliver our exciting products to customers new and old. 25 years is a great milestone, but we look forward to what the future holds for our innovative brand.

QUEEN ELIZABETH II’S 90TH BIRTHDAY To celebrate the Queen’s landmark birthday, 10,000 guests were invited to a special Patron’s Lunch on The Mall, with HRH addressing the excited crowds with the help of a fully branded iCONIC 60 Stage screen (seen on the cover).

ADI screens were also central to celebrations at the royal residences of Windsor Castle and Balmoral.

Great North Run For over 15 years ADI have worked on the world’s most popular half marathon.

It all begin with the provision of a single screen truck in 2001, now a total of 14 iCONIC screens are supplied over the Great North Run weekend, a significant expansion!

FIA FORMULA E PARIS EPRIX The Grand Palais provided a spectacular setting for the inaugural Formula E Paris ePrix, featuring a network of 10 iCONIC screens strategically sited around the Les Invalides circuit.

The screens not only broadcast up to the minute coverage to Formula E fans but were an important element of the event staging; the iCONIC 60 served as a digital backdrop to the winners’ podium.

Perhaps the pinnacle of competitive sailing, The America’s Cup stopped at Portsmouth for a four day entertainment spectacular.

Over 130,000 spectators watched Sir Ben Ainslie and his Land Rover BAR team take victory thanks to LED screens at multiple locations, including an iCONIC 60 in the ticketed Race Village and iFLY 25 on the seafront.

FUN FOR FANS The NFL has gained huge popularity in the UK leading to a host of fixtures each autumn at Wembley and Twickenham.

Attracting over 80,000 fans per game, organisers enlist ADI to help entertain pre-match. Crowds attending Indianapolis Colts V's Jacksonville Jaguars were treated to a ‘Tailgate Party’ at Wembley where a branded iCONIC 60 Stage hosted famous NFL stars, cheerleaders and live music, accompanied by some of our smaller iCONIC screens and an event broadcast team.

BEACHEAST AT THE PARK, LONDON For Rio 2016 a GB fan zone sprung-up in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park for the duration of the games, centering around a 40m² LED screen. Over 100,000 people watched the games on the 6mm resolution screen, which was built on a chair structure for stability and branded for the occasion.

Leicester Highcross unveils a public art piece like no other, custom-engineered

by ADI’s Installation Team.

The specially commissioned digital sculpture integrates LED technology in the form of seven towering totems, establishing a stunning new landmark in the centre of Leicester, called ‘The Beacons’.

With a brief to create something playful, engaging and interactive, LED technology delivered on every level. Different modes of moving imagery are displayed across the 7 metre high totems, making it possible to instantly change the mood and ambience in St Peter’s Square.

Digital content flows smoothly across the entire sculpture thanks to a unique chamfered design. Devised in-house, the three faces of each totem feature a completely seamless edge, which is complimented by contemporary cladding at top and bottom.

Integrated sensors and software not only react to people in close proximity to the totems but changing weather conditions, triggering a vast array of artistic, ambient visuals alongside specially shot footage, including members of the community and even local celebrities and sports stars.

With a small site set in a busy public space, the installation demanded vigorous planning and project management from ADI’s team. Following extensive groundworks that integrated formwork, piling and electrical cable installation the totems were lifted into place as complete structures.

Since all seven totems house a control rack of CMS equipment and cabling, ADI’s 10mm front-fix product was specially selected for the project as it allows all LED maintenance and repairs to be done externally.

Norwich City FC has transformed the matchday experience at Carrow Road with the installation of World football’s first rotating LED stadium screen.

The new Epoch 400’s screen is visible to fans in all areas of the stadium thanks to its unique ability to rotate through 360 degrees, allowing everyone to enjoy those key match moments.

Pre-match stats, news, player profiles and team line-ups are delivered in a larger portrait format, then before kick-off the Epoch’s 40m² screen revolves to a traditional landscape display to broadcast live match coverage and replays.
