Meet Our 2024 Ambassadors

MEET OUR 2024 AMBASSADORS “I’m so proud to be an Ambassador for a festival that is so strongly committed to making participation accessible to all. The shows that all the artists work so hard on shouldn’t exclude people who want to be a part of the festivities and fun. As a cook, I know that cooking like festivals, is for everyone.” An Auslan Interpreted session for ‘The Cook Up with Adam Liaw LIVE’ will be available on Friday 1 March. “I am a huge advocate for opening the doors to one and all. I believe that the creative arts should be accessible to everyone no matter the circumstance. I believe we should be doing all we can to make our work accessible. I hope everyone can be moved by my story that fights for the rights for all.” An Auslan Interpreted session for ‘Lady Sings The Blues Volume Two’ is available on Tuesday 20 February. “I’m more than thrilled to be an Ambassador for Adelaide Fringe, a festival that endeavours to make art and culture accessible for all. Let’s make 2024 one to remember!” An Auslan interpreted session for ‘Isaac Humphries - Unearthed’ is available on Saturday 16 March.

Welcome

We are ready to go “All In” on Adelaide Fringe 2024! After a massive 2023 festival where we sold one million tickets, Adelaide Fringe continues to grow in attendance and offering, with our program becoming more diverse each year.

Heather Croall Director and Chief Executive

We were elated to be recognised for our efforts in accessibility at the 2023 South Australian Tourism Awards, recently taking out the Excellence in Accessible Tourism category. Of course we recognise there is so much more we can do, and this year have introduced even more initiatives to better serve our community.

We continue to work closely with JFA Purple Orange through consultations to factor in how we can be more inclusive and supportive of people who live with disability. We are proud to be partnering with Breakthrough Foundation, Guide Dogs SA/NT, Access2Arts, Autism SA, Deaf Connect, and SACare to continue moving forward to a more inclusive community. Happy Fringe-ing! Adelaide Fringe continues to work closely with our Artists, Venues and Partners. We are thrilled to see substantial growth in the number of shows with accessibility provisions this year. Fringe has updated its accessibility icons to better communicate venue environments with audiences and remain fully dedicated Tara MacLeod to delivering a world-class festival for everyone. New initiatives have been Executive Director introduced to make our festival even Operations more accessible, including staff training and Finance to recognise hidden disabilities, visual communication boards and hearing loops at box offices, additional venue accessibility videos and social stories for venues, and sensory support for all Fringe-run events. We hope this guide enhances your Fringe experience!

Presented by Kalyesubula Amos • I am Kalyesubula Amos, a Ugandan Visual Artist who does art for charity as a solo visual performer. The love for art comes with talent, but more so with nature, therefore I am able to visualize the best caption after nature calls. I’m good at paintings, Batiks, sculptures, which I have experienced in a period of 8 years. I tell stories through my Art.
