India is the world’s largest processing and manufacturing hub for Gems & jewellery. Because of this large-scale industry driven by local artisans, craftsmen, and small family businesses the infrastructure available for this sector is very limited compared to the market demand.
The dissertation tries to shed some light on the working environment of the artisans & craftsmen as well as the problems faced by them. The dissertation will focus on understanding the different issues faced by the gems & jewellery industry and at last finding an appropriate architectural solution for the identified issues. The study focuses on the Gems and jewellery market of Jaipur Rajasthan and how it affects the current market of Jaipur and its artisans and craftsmen.
This publication is a continuation of dissertation Sem 09 where we have learned about the gems and jewellery market in detail. Here I have proposed an architectural solution for the problem of this industry and provided a platform for the artisans and craftsmen.
