Inside:
The Addison Independent’s annual Worship Directory comes at a time of year when many faiths celebrate Easter and Passover. To Christians and Jews these holidays help celebrate resurrection and salvation, freedom from slavery and God’s gift of a new life. Other more secular people mark the season with new growth and life as we emerge from winter into spring. Whether in a formal group, church, synagogue or mosque, or in a private and solitary way, many people are connected to traditions of worship. With this annual publication, we seek to provide a directory of venues and resources that help to draw a picture of the many places of worship within our communities. These are thriving, community-focused and rich cultural centers within our small towns and give us reason to celebrate their presence and give thanks for their prosperity. We are fortunate to have a vibrant and active community of worshipers.

All are welcomed to join us as we journey with Jesus! In this “Year of Mercy”, St. Peter’s Parish Community is focused on making Jesus’ Mission our Mission. This Mission involves two things, sharing the Good News of God’s love and by reaching out to those in need. One of the ways that we are sharing this Good News is via our Youth Ministry program which helps our youth to discover God’s love for them and to share that love by serving others. We also have ongoing Adult education, a young parent group, and Bible study group. Learning about God’s love and sharing that love is what we are all called to do. Our Parish is also very pleased to serve the needs of our brothers and sisters in the Vergennes area in many different ways through our Social Action committee. I would like to list just a few in case you would like to be part of or in need of these important services. 1) Free Community monthly Meals; 2) Thrift shop; 3) Graham Shelter elves; 4) Food Shelf supporters; 4) Respite care providers ; 5) Meals for those in need; 6) Youth Ministry shut-in meals; 7) Funeral reception meals; and 8) Our Parish Hall which is available for many community functions. We know that in serving our neighbor we are serving God!

Brandon Congregational Church – United Church of Christ Sunday Worship at 10 a.m. year round • The Reverend William L. Bartholomew, Interim Pastor Our congregation is an inclusive, diverse, Christ-centered community of faith, open and affirming of all God’s children. We are called to walk humbly with God in fairness, kindness, love, peace and joy. We seek to follow Jesus in worship and music, outreach, in-reach and fellowship. We welcome all who seek a spiritual home where love prevails. Missions: We host the Brandon Foodshelf and support other local mission projects that provide services and assistance to people of all ages. Our Pastor has a discretionary fund that may be utilized to help individuals with transportation, short term housing and other needs. We have meals for the general public where free will offerings are taken rather than charging an admission fee. Brandon Cares was begun by this congregation and has grown into a community wide project. Our buildings are used by Scouts and other community groups.
Music Our adult choir provides music during Sunday Services from September through June. The Brandon Festival Singers has performed a special holiday concert the second Sunday in December for the past 35 years. Youth Education & Programs: Sunday School Program & Child Care are available from September through June. Adult Education Adult classes & discussions are offered. Hospitality Coffee and other beverages and light snacks are offered after the service in Fellowship Hall.
The Brandon Congregational Church was established in 1785. The present building was erected in 1832 and the adjacent Fellowship Hall was built in the second half of the nineteenth century. Christian Science Society, Middlebury P.O. Box 452, Middlebury, VT 05753 History Established in August 1954, the Christian Science Society, Middlebury, is a branch of The First Church of Christ, Scientist in Boston, MA. It has been holding Sunday and Wednesday services at the Middlebury Community House since its formation.
Worship Services are held at Middlebury Community House, Main and Seymour Streets, Sunday at 10 A.M. and 1st & 3rd Wednesday of each month at 7:30 P.M. Both services include readings from the Bible and Science and Health, and the Wednesday service includes testimonies of Christian Science healing. Sunday School for students up to the age 20 is held at 10 A.M.
Purpose To bring to the community an opportunity to learn how spiritual healing is as revelant today as when taught and practiced by Christ Jesus.
