Toni Louise Hall

A Gem is Born

On the balmy Wednesday afternoon, June 19, 1963, the fifth baby girl and sixth child was born to parents Bentley and Norma (Peggy) Hall. She was given the name Toni Louise. Toni, meaning ‘priceless one’ and Louise, the middle name of both grandmothers, meaning ‘unrivaled beauty and delicate but strong’ were ideal descriptions of this young child. Toni had a beautiful smile which attracted many to her. Her affable, pleasant personality caused many to want to do everything in their power to please her. As the youngest girl, she was treated as special, even somewhat spoilt by her parents and siblings who always looked out for her during her youth.

A Time to Shine

Toni attended Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School Grades 1-4 and St. Thomas More Catholic Primary School Grades 5 and 6. She attended St. Augustine’s College (SAC) 1975 to 1980, where she was loved by all of her friends and teachers.

After high school, Toni took numerous business and secretarial courses at BTVI and other local vocational institutions. She was a skilled office assistant, and eventually became an executive secretary, human resource and public relations manager Toni had a wide variety of work experiences where she was able to hone her skills so finely that promotions followed her wherever she went. Her former places of employment included Dupuch Publications, IBM, National Car Rental, Colina Insurance Company, Commonwealth Bank, The British Colonial Hilton Hotel, Our Lucaya Hotel and most recently FOWLCO. Some of her former colleagues commented on her pleasant but strong personality, willingness to work as a team player, her diligence, efficiency and determination to complete assignments. In addition, her supervisor at the Hilton, Mr. Jermaine Wright said, “Everyone loved Toni – subordinates, the clients, team members and leaders. Her passionate spirit was infectious She had a gift for making everyone feel comfortable and special; she connected with persons even on the telephone without ever meeting them face to face. She was both remarkable and memorable.” Always a lover of adventure, she accepted the invitation to participate in the 1982 Miss Bahamas Beauty Pageant as Miss Bahamas Handbook. She was excited to prepare for the contest; learning to model and walk the catwalk, how to answer questions, the social graces and to compete gracefully. She thoroughly enjoyed the experience with the support of her family and friends. At the age of 22, Toni gave birth to her first daughter, Tia, and married Kelly Mackey. This marriage produced two additional children, Tamara and Terron before ending in divorce. In 1999 Toni and Terry Archer were married and remained close friends until her death.

Toni Louise Hall

A Jewel Glitters

Toni was a member of the Pilot Club of Nassau which she served with integrity and excellence. She was an efficient and professional Secretary who served in the 2010-2011 Pilot Year when her cousin, Tiffany Glass, was President. They excelled as a team. As a fundraising division membe she was able to use her network to assist with fundraising and made the years outstanding and successful for the Pilot Club During the years working at The British Colonial Hilton Hotel, she served on several outreach committees including Give a Child a Ride (Hilton Caribbean Kids Initiative) and the Golf Tournament which raised funds to provide tuition for underprivileged students to attend private schools.

A Diamond Fades

Toni was fun loving, (Peggy Hall’s daughter), who enjoyed parties and having a good time. She generally enjoyed good health. But, in recent months she was not feeling well and had to be hospitalized. After much testing, medications and finally a surgery, she was slowly improving. With the encouragement, prayers and daily communications with family and friends, especially her daughters, Tia and Tamara and sister, Norma, she fought a good fight. Unfortunately, her body was not able to fight off a protracted infection and she succumbed to a brief illness at 3:30 A.M.

Saturday, December 4, 2021. May her Soul Rest In Peace until we see her again.

HYMN ……………………………………………………

The Lord’s my shepherd, I’ll not want, He makes me down to lie in pastures green He leadeth me the quiet waters by.

My soul he doth restore again, and me to walk doth make within the paths of righteousness, e’en for his own name’s sake.

Yea, though I walk in death’s dark vale, yet will I fear none ill. For thou art with me, and thy rod and staff me comfort still.

My table thou hast furnished in presence of my foes, my head thou dost with oil anoint, and my cup overflows.

Goodness and mercy all my life shall surely follow me And in God’s house for evermore my dwelling-place shall be.

O Lord, My God, when I in awesome wonder, consider all the worlds thy hand hast made, I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder, thy power throughout the universe displayed.

Chorus: Thensingsmysoul, mySaviourGodtothee: Howgreatthouart, howgreatthouart. Thensingsmysoul, mySaviourGodtothee: Howgreatthouart, howgreatthouart.

When through the woods and forest glades I wander and hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees; when I look down from lofty mountain'd grandeur, and hear the brook, and feel the gentle breeze.

And when I think that God, his Son not sparing, sent him to die, I scarce can take it in that on the cross, my burden gladly bearing, he bled and died to take away my sin.

When Christ shall come with shout of acclamation and take me home, what joy shall fill my heart; when I shall bow in humble adoration, and there proclaim; my God, how great thou art

FINALBLESSING

RECESSIONALHYMN

Tempted and tried we’re oft made to wonder, why it should be thus all the day long, while there are others living us, never molested tho in the wrong.

Chorus:

Fartheralongwe’llknowallaboutit, Fartheralongwe’llunderstandwhy; Cheerup,mybrothers,liveinthesunshine. We’llunderstanditallbyandby.

When death has come and taken our loved ones, it leaves our home so lonely and drear; then do we wonder, why other prosper, living so wicked year after year

Faithful till death said our loving Master, a few more days to labor and wait; toils of the road will then seem as nothing, as we sweep thru that beautiful gate

When we see Jesus coming in glory, when he comes from His home in the sky; then we shall meet Him in that bright mansion, we’ll understand it all by and by

A Tribute To My Baby Sister

An anonymous person wrote: SISTERS are like Seashells, Snowflakes and Precious Works of Art. Each is a Unique, Beautiful TREASURE that can never be duplicated or replaced. There were five of us in one family. All BEAUTIFUL and UNIQUE. Toni was ROYAL. Her name depicts a special woman. She was welcomed into this world by her parents who described her at birth as a Bundle of Joy, she was called a Princess by Great Aunt Shirley, the Dancing Queen by family and recognized by her colleagues and friends as a rare GEM. Toni was a natural beauty who was not stuck on herself, but a pleasant person who did not like to trouble others because she wanted to be independent. She was a diligent, hardworking woman who performed outstandingly in any capacity that she worked. She will be missed by all and remembered for her outstanding qualities. Until I see her again as promised by Jesus in John 5:28, and 29, I will remember her as my soft spoken, pleasant, beautiful ROYAL BABY SISTER. Love Marie

Toni, my dear niece, I never thought you would be the next one to leave us … you had so much more life to live – so much more to give; but our heavenly father saw your struggles and called you home. I am so sorry we did not get to say good bye; my mind rest on the last time we spoke.

We had a special bond, being in your life from a baby. You were a beautiful baby and was given the name “Princess” by our dear aunt Shirley. Being the last girl in the family you were treated as a Princess and spoilt by the family especially your dad. You grew to be a wonderful person, wife, exceptional mother, grandmother and friend. You loved a good time and were the life of any party.

After you moved to Freeport, we kept in contact and I will miss our surprise calls to each other just to catch up. You would say “don’t worry if you don’t hear from me, you are always in my thoughts and in my prayers." And I would say the same.

I will treasure the voice note you sent for my 70th birthday which ended as follows “I don’t regard you as an aunt but as a sister because that’s the way we grew up. I love you sis.” Take your rest my loved one. We love you but Jesus loves you more…. Aunt Emily (Joe) your “ Sis”

As a brother-in-law, classmate and a long time friend in excess of forty eight years, I can only allow her the grace and style she deserves that when I say to you or describe Toni as PULCHRITUDINOUS… she was and remains in our hearts as beautiful and articulate. Rest In Peace, Toni – Aphrodite’s nemesis. Love always, Sid, your brother- in-law.

Rest Little Sister

My earliest recollection of you Toni, is that of this strikingly beautiful little girl, and your little brother Andre playful antics as I visited Marie in the Genesis of our love affair. You would join Marie and me on the sofa, greeting me my customary hug and that Million Dollar smile. But more impressive than your pulchritude, was the quality of your Sweetness. Toni, you were special, and throughout your life, wherever you went, and whomever you met, you touched people with your sweetness. You made the world a better place, and I can’t wait for the day when you will awaken from your sleep in death in fulfillment of Jah’s promise of the resurrection. Then, you will once again brighten our lives with your beauty, your smile, and your wonderful sweetness. Till then…… Rest, little sister. See you soon!

Wayne Dyer wrote, "When you dance your purpose is not to get to a certain place on the floor. It's to enjoy each step along the way." Toni surely enjoyed her dance. She was the life of the party. Dancing was a big part of what made her happy. One of my most memorable cruises was in 2013 with Toni. We had a blast! We danced until the wee hours of the morning then went to the Lido Deck for tea and pizza, where we talked nonstop and watched the sunrise.

Toni was a one in a million lady and my dancing partner at every family gathering.

I only had to say "Tee let's go" and she would say "dance!" We even had a favorite song. Whenever we heard the song we would call one another laughing and reminiscing about the good times. Oh my gosh! What will I do without my beautiful, fun loving cuz. We talked and laughed a lot but most importantly we DANCED! We always ended our conversations with, "love you girl!" I miss her and love her so much. I will treasure all of the memories we shared and hold them deep within my heart. Dance on my beautiful cuz and save a dance for me, until we meet again.

Love Always and Forever, Tiffany

A Tribute to My Nana

Dear Nana,

Even though you are not here with us today, I just want you to know that I’ve always loved you and appreciate you. It still doesn’t feel real. I know we only got to spend a little time with each other, but the times that I did spend with you, I will cherish. The moments when you would come to Nassau to see me, messaged me to ask how was my day, along with all of the hugs and kisses are testimony of your love for me. Nana, there will always be a special place in my heart for you. You will be deeply missed. Fly high Nana and watch over us.

Love,

Your Granddaughter, Zara

A Tribute To My Nana

Dear Nana,

You were such a beautiful soul, someone who could light up the room like a thousand shooting starts. It doesn’t feel as though you left us. It feels like you are on a vacation far away and I have no way to contact you. It is as though you will soon return, knock on my bedroom door and stick your head in the room with the biggest smile on your face and say, ‘I just hailing’. I will miss your big warm hugs and listening to you cracking jokes with my mommy while sitting at the dining room table. Even though your time with us was rather short, you will always have a significant place in my heart and I will treasure our memories until the end of time. Continue to sleep in peace Nana. I love you always and forever, Your Granddaughter, Laya

A Tribute to Toni

It has been hard writing these lines, because I couldn't find the exact words to describe our relationship and all the feelings involved in it. Somehow, it seemed easier to just sit and silently mourn this significant loss to the world. I can shed tears because she died and left us but I choose to smile because Toni lived! Co-workers turning into family sounds so much like a cliché, however there is no other sentiment that can better describe the progression of my relationship with Toni Louise.

Entering the doors of the British Colonial Hilton, September 2001 as a young Manager, Toni Hall welcomed me into the fold with enthusiasm and warmth. Her infectious smile graced the Executive Office and all who came in contact with her. Fast forward to June 2007, I was extremely fortunate to have this amazing lady as my Executive Assistant. There are no words to describe how much I truly valued her, she kept me organized and together we made an incredible team. She confidently executed her duties with the utmost professionalism all while remaining kind and graceful. When it is said that if it’s possible to answer the phone with a smile, Toni mastered it! In 2014 her professional journey at the British Colonial ended and she commenced an exciting adventure that took her to Grand Bahama. However, that was not the end of our relationship as we stayed in contact with frequent communication and countless visits. Toni and I, both treasured the friendship and bond that we established over the many years.

Toni Louise Hall …. You will be missed and your memories will forever linger in the hearts of all those you touched. There are just some people who bring a light so great with their existence that even after they are gone, the light remains. Dance on my friend … Dance on!

Tribute to Toni

Toni and I have known each other a lifetime- part of the "Regency Park Crew".

From standing in her wedding to being Tias godmother, and offering up advice from time to time. She was always soft spoken & kind hearted, such a beautiful human being. We had a lot of good times together. I will try not to remember her with sadness but for all the laughter we've shared throughout the years. She made many smile. Her life was a blessing and now her memory, a treasure.

Until we meet again my sister/ friend.....Toni

An Eternal Memory

Those special memories of you will always make me smile. If only I could have you back, for just a little while. Then we could sit and talk again just like we used to do, You always meant so much to me. And always will do too. The fact that you’re no longer here, will always cause me pain. But you’re forever in my heart, until we meet again.

With Love, Antoniece Williams

A Special Face

Dear Toni,

Imagine our shock and dismay at the news of your passing. Death leaves such heartache and grief but when someone you love becomes a memory, that memory becomes a treasure. We will be comforted by the wonderful memories we have of you. Your gentle, loving spirit, and beautiful smile, will live on in our hearts whenever we meet and reminisce of you. It's Hard To Say Goodbye

The Pilot Club of Nassau extends our heartfelt condolences to the family of Toni Hall. Farewell to our Pilot sister and friend. We will miss you so. You were a gem of a sister and your friendship was truly a blessing.

You brightened up our days and brought us so much happiness with your kind and loving ways.

You lifted up spirits when times and events seemed blue. No matter what was happening, you knew just what to do. You were a star on the dance floor and created lasting memories.

You worked hard in our communities, giving service, and having fun.

Through all the ups and downs of life, the good times and the sad, you never lost sight of our mission of being a friend and lending a hand.

God is here to take you home and a hole is in our hearts. It's time to say goodbye to a beautiful and faithful sister. We thought it would have been just a short goodbye but now it is forever.

Farewell Toni, Rest in Peace

Love, The Pilot Club of Nassau Family
