We look forward to decorating Christmas trees, extensive shopping, exchanging gifts, singing Christmas carols, having festive meals and telling old stories along with visiting with those far and near as we attend the Church of our choice. As we celebrate this 2025 Christmas let us be more mindful as to why we celebrate and give thanks for the many blessings that have come our way, as we give back a "Ray" of hope to the many who are not as fortunate as we are. May Almighty God bless each of us as we seek to make a difference right where we are. Message from the ECR Happy New Year Pilots! It is hard to believe we are halfway through our Pilot year, but we still have so much to accomplish. It is time for us to begin to think about leadership on our Club, District, and International levels for the upcoming 2026-2027 year. Leadership is not about having all the answers. It is about showing up, working together, and investing in our Pilot communities to find the answers. Even the greatest of leaders had to start at the beginning. When approached with a possible nomination on any level of our organization’s leadership, please pause and truly consider accepting. Someone thinks you are capable, or they would not be asking. Remember, “just because you haven’t, doesn’t mean you can’t!” You can do hard things! That is what a growth mindset is all about. Pilot International offers many opportunities for scholarships to undergraduates, as well as graduate students, continuing their education in one of Pilot International’s focus areas. The deadline for applications is March 15, 2026. Scholarship applications can be found on the Pilot International website. Applications for Helmet, BrainMinders, and Pick Me Up Grants are also due on March 15. The funds are there just waiting to be given. Download the applications, follow the instructions and be sure to submit to the correct email address by the application deadline: pickmeups@pilothq.org helmets@pilothq.org brainminders@pilothq.org If you have any questions, your ECR is there, ready and willing to help in any way she can. Pacesetters, 250 Clubs and 250 Members are recognitions designated by Pilot International for financial contributions given by members, clubs, and districts. To be a Pacesetter, a club must donate $10 for each club member. To be a 250 District, Club or Member, a donation of at least $250 must be made to the Grants and Scholarships Fund. You may ask, “why you would want to do that?” The answer is simple. Every dime that our members donate, goes right back to our clubs through Helmet, BrainMinders, Pick Me Up, and Matching Grants and the many scholarships that are awarded each year. The more you donate, the more we give back. To be recognized for these donations at your District Convention, please submit contributions by February 1, 2026. Love, Lisa

Membership Feedback Spotlight: Membership Coordinator Nikia Forbes presented on the topic, "Recruit, Retain and Engage," at the Bahamas District Fall Council meetings that were held in New Providence, Grand Bahama and Abaco. During the feedback sessions, members expressed heartfelt reasons why they continue to serve and great ideas for strengthening our clubs. Here is some of what they shared:
What Motivates Pilots Stay? Our members remain committed because of: • Friendship and genuine connections • Service and dedication to a bigger cause • The positive impact we make in our communities • Anchors and support systems within the organization • Being surrounded by positive, like-minded people What We Should Start Members recommended several meaningful initiatives: • Look within the club for “pick-me-ups” • Create an official mentorship program • Offer more training and orientation for new members • Increase social activities with Pilot families members • Host fun, engagement-focused meetings such as tea parties, movie nights, pizza nights and game nights • Provide more recognition for attendance and participation • Organize gift drops and small surprises to boost morale • Establish a buddy system and enhance member care • Reach out to members who miss meetings or events • Increase collaboration and partnerships across clubs What We Should Stop • Forming cliques • Operating in silos, Pilots want us to actively support initiatives of other clubs What We Should Continue • Friendship Fridays • Upholding the Pilot Mandate with a spirit of excellence • Telling our story and sharing the impact of Pilot International in meaningful ways We look forward to a rewarding year of growth, engagement and fine execution of the our mission and vision.

BLANKET DONATION INITIATIVE
Governor Sheila spearheaded a Bahamas District initiative donating blankets to several organizations. The donation commenced at the Sandilands Rehabilitation Centre on New Providence with donation of more than 150 blankets.

Annual ringing of the bell for Salvation Army - On Saturday, December 6th, 2025, Pilot First Saturday, our Pilots were out in the community spreading Christmas cheer as we assisted the Salvation Army with their annual Red Kettle Campaign. Ringing the bell each year is always a joy for us as we help raise funds for those in need. We’re proud to support this meaningful initiative and to bring greater awareness to the work of the Salvation Army and to all that we do as Pilots to serve others. Breakfast Feeding Program Our Breakfast Feeding Program is still going strong, serving the little darlings of Lewis Yard Primary School every Tuesday and The Beacon School every Wednesday. Breakfast is often called the most important meal of the day, fuelling both mind and body. We’re always grateful for the opportunity to help give these children a strong, healthy start.

Pilot Club of Abaco
On December 13th2025, the Pilot Club of Abaco hosted its Caregiver's Luncheon—a heartfelt celebration of the extraordinary work that our caregivers do every day. We honored three selfless heroes in our community who dedicate their lives to caring for their loved ones facing challenges. Their compassion, strength, and unwavering commitment are the true embodiment of love and sacrifice. They may often go unnoticed, but their impact is immeasurable. Our goal was to remind them just how special they are and that their hard work does not go unnoticed. We aimed to uplift their spirits and put a genuine smile on their faces. The talented Anchors of Patrick J. Bethel High School serenaded us with beautiful melodies, and everyone enjoyed a delicious meal at Jake's Restaurant. To all caregivers—you are the heart of our community, and your work is truly priceless. Thank you for all that you do. You are appreciated today and every day.
On December 20th,2025 the Pilot Club of Abaco held a Raffle Fundraiser. Today, we sold every one of our raffle tickets. We are thankful for the support from the Abaco and Grand Bahama Community, who gave generously to our cause.
On December 16th, 2025, the Pilot Club of Abaco celebrated our members' birthdays from July to December with a fun and inspiring sip and paint event! It was a wonderful evening of camaraderie, creativity, and celebration. We’re grateful for our amazing members and the friendships we’ve built along the way. Here’s to many more shared moments and continued service together! On December 17th, 2025, the Pilot Club of Abaco proudly joined Bahamas District Governor Sheila McPhee and Project Coordinator Eloise in a special effort to spread joy. We distributed cozy blankets to the Kidney Centre, Marsh Harbour Healthcare Centre, and the Department of Social Services. In keeping with the Governor’s mission to provide blankets for the clients and patients of these organizations, which aims to bring extra warmth and comfort during this Christmas season. It’s truly rewarding to see the smiles and gratitude as we help make this holiday a little brighter for those in need.

The Pick Me Up Division proudly celebrated outstanding caregivers from three Senior Citizens Homes, honoring their compassion, dedication, and unwavering commitment to our seniors. As we bring 2025 to a close, we concluded the year with our final Pick Me Up events: Monday, December 8 – Our team visited A & A Comfort Care on Breadfruit Street, Pinewood Gardens, where Administrator Donna Johnson was recognized for her service. Wednesday, December 10 – Members honored Sislyn Pratt, a devoted caregiver from Renew Home Care. Our final stop celebrated Nurse Twanna Bain of Paradise In-Home Care, acknowledging her exceptional dedication. Each Caregiver received a bag of treats, a Super Value Gift Certificate and an Outstanding Caregiver Certificate. Free Fair 2025 On Saturday, December 6th, the Pilot Club of Nassau hosted its Annual Free Fair at Englerston Park, Families were also blessed with grocery bags courtesy of Pilot Rochelle. Ringing of the Bell The Pilot Club of Nassau is proud to once again partner with The Salvation Army with their annual Kettle Appeal at Lowe’s Pharmacy, Southwest Plaza on Saturday 29 November., December 13 and 20th. , joined by the Alternative Learning Institute and Queen’s College Anchors.
