ADAS®

ETFE SKYLIGHT

ETFE Skylights are a lightweight alternative to glass roofs and facades that can be in single layer or cushion form, which are pressurized with air to provide structural stability and insulation. ETFE film can be custom printed with various patterns to provide effective insulation and shading.

FACADE

Fabric Facade is an alternative to metal facades, which lack the flexibility for freeform shapes. Lightweight and economical, the fabric properties maintain exterior visibility while providing glare and heat protection. It also creates opportunities to play with lighting and colours on the

We custom design, engineer, and fabricate our own structural steel for each project. This allows us to achieve freeform shapes and also eases the installation process with proprietary connection details.

Spaceframe structural systems provide an aesthetic, costeffective, lightweight solution to large-span structures. Our own proprietary engineering design software, combined with our modern manufacturing facility enables us to undertake spaceframe structures of any form and magnitude.

We were awarded the task of designing, engineering, fabricating, and installing the ADAS® Tensile Membrane roof for the newly renovated National Cricket Stadium in Karachi, Pakistan. The lightweight tensile fabric used was PVDF-coated PVC Fabric, which was able to reduce the structural steel required. The total coverage area was 40,000m2, or around 430,000 ft2.

Located at the heart of LEGOLAND Malaysia, this 9800m2 canopy provides shade for the LEGO models representing a miniature version of Asia’s iconic landmarks. While a majority of the canopy is composed of ADAS® Tensile Membrane to provide shading from the sun, the flower canopies are topped with ADAS® ETFE Skylight to bring light into the canopy interiors.

We were appointed to design, fabricate, supply, and install the brand-new amphitheatre that houses the also newly refreshed Creatures of the Night show at the Night Safari Zoo. This new structure allows the audience to enjoy the show despite the weather conditions.

Located on Level 3 of the Toppen Shopping Centre, the Active Zone is an excellent space for fun physical activities. Our fabric shades are able to provide shelter from the sun, reducing heat and glare so that visitors can enjoy outdoor activities with comfort.

The Toppen Shopping Centre is a one-stop destination for shopping and lifestyle in Johor Bahru, Malaysia. It is owned and run by the Swedish furniture giant (Ikea) who named the mall ‘Toppen’, meaning ‘Best’ in Swedish. Our ADAS® PTFE Tensile Membrane canopies bring life and dynamism to this open-concept mall that has space for 300 other tenants anchored by IKEA Tebrau.

Designed to encompass a shopping boulevard for Sunway Iskandar, the transparent canopy at the M3 Main Boulevard consists of ETFE Single Layer and Double Layer Cushions held up by a dynamic structural support system. This hybrid of single-layer and double-layer ETFE membranes produces an alternating shadow effect due to their different light transmission properties.

The Design Village itself is in a natural, singlestorey, naturally-ventilated park that features cool, well-sheltered verandah walkways and connectors, nestled within a lush tropical garden setting. The architectural approach is one that is contemporary, stylistically international, and nonthematic. Yet references are made to Georgetown City’s historical urban scale, visual texture, and architectural tapestry in the physical composition of the Design Village—to give it a character emblematic of its locale.

As the Design Village Penang consists of a series of buildings that form an open-air retail complex, this series of ETFE canopies create spaces that are sheltered from the rain but still allow plenty of sunlight. The use of double-layer cushion systems allows fewer intermediate supporting members as compared to a glass structure, and the tinted blue ETFE film and silver dot printing effectively cuts the heat transmission of the canopy.

The Sunway Iskandar Events Gallery sits on the banks of Emerald Lake, serving as a node within a network of eco-parks, green pockets, water bodies, and green corridors. The distinct form of the roof canopy is envisioned as one elegant swoop, clad in TiO2-coated PVC fabric. The choice of material allows the building to emit a warm, soft glow in the evenings, and also reduces the need for heavy structural support, cleaning, and maintenance.

ADAS® ETFE SINGLE LAYER

Material: Single Layer Clear and White ETFE film

An iconic structure that houses a retail showroom for a floral shop. By using ETFE film, we were able to create a greenhouse experience for the visitors while they do their shopping. The free-form dome shape was formed by curved architectural steel as the main supporting component to the flexible ETFE membrane. The steel structure was further minimised through value engineering and the extremely light weight of the film. The interface between the membrane and structural steel is seamlessly integrated using proprietary detailing and aluminium fixtures that not only provide sufficient tensioning for a smooth, glass-like surface but also maintain air and water-tightness.

Our team was tasked with one-to-one replacement of the tensile membrane of the bluebell canopies and revamping the existing steel structure. In addition to the replacement works, our experienced technical team also developed additional improvements to the existing design for better performance and durability.

Located in one of the heartland neighbourhoods of Singapore, our ADAS® ETFE Facade is seamlessly incorporated with traditional aluminium cladding features to allow for greater natural daylight to enter the public dining facilities within. The transparent quality of the fritted ETFE film blurs the boundaries of the building envelope extending into the surrounding environment.

Thoughtfully designed as a ‘nest’ by leading architects from USA, Australia, and Japan, the architecture emulates a nurturing environment and pedagogy for an enhanced learning experience for every student. This roof structure nests on the roof level of two opposing buildings and spans across it which results in the lightweight structure protecting the central space from the external environmental elements while l etting in abundant natural light.

The new two-storey lifestyle hub at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) North Spine is sheltered by an ADAS® double-layer ETFE air cushion, allowing natural light to penetrate onto the decks below while ensuring protection from the rain. The tree-like design of the steel support structures further injects character into the space, which is envisioned as a bustling centre of student life, hosting both institutional and retail activities.

Hydrotherapy Shelter Roof

Located at an educational institution at Admiralty Lane, Singapore, our shelter provides shade from both the sun and rain to encourage students to utilise the hydrotherapy pool more frequently. The use of architectural steel improves the features’ visual appeal of the canopy, with transparent ETFE skylights integrated between the PTFE fabric to bring natural light into the interior space below.

Addis Ababa Bole International Airport is an international airport in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. It is in the Bole district, 6 km (3.7 mi) southeast of the city centre and 65 km (40 mi) north of Bishoftu. For this project, we were in charge of the design and engineering of the spaceframe structure for the airport expansion by using our proprietary analysis software, Windas.

Located in the vibrant heart of Bugis, Singapore, this contemporary 4-star hotel is designed to reflect the fun and colorful charm of the neighbourhood. Thus, the colorful fabric facade was introduced to break away from the rigid glass facade of the 15-storey hotel.

Located at Changi Business Park, the 800m2 canopy at Ascendas Plaza 8 has a sleek form that shades a spacious, naturally lit plaza below. The use of single-layer ETFE is able to create a form that is not limited by the rigid and bulky constraints of glass panels.
