The names Adam and Eve are primarily associatedwiththebeginningofhumanhistory. Regardless of whether one believes in the divine creation of Adam and Eve and their existing historical personalities or not, the traditions about them belong to the common literary treasure of human culture and could thereforebeofinteresttoeveryone.
WhenwetalkaboutAdamandEve,itisalways thetextsfromtheBiblethatcometomind irst andforemost.Inadditiontothebiblicalstories, however, there are other ancient legends and sagas that appear to be of signi icance. The Jewish traditions in particular, but also Chaldean, Sumerian and other ancient oriental legends, to be of signi icance here The content of all these texts essentially re lects the biblical traditions, but at the same time they also present a multifaceted picture of the events in theGardenofEden.
This book deals with these legends and sagas. We now set out on the trail of the irst humans by using the puzzles that form our idea of the legendary Garden of Eden and the life of Adam andEve.

The house of the first humans
According to the Bible, the Garden of Eden was a place where the first humans could live carefree and happy before the fall That is why the Garden of Eden is also called "paradise", which comes from ancient Greek and means "garden of animals".
The localization of the Garden of Eden
The most common opinion is that the Garden of Eden was located in what is now the Persian Gulf, as the oldest and bestknown cultures originate from this region.
Some researchers believe that the Garden of Eden is located in what is now Mount Ararat in Turkey. Tradition has it that Noah's Ark landed in the same place as a second attempt, so to speak, which could allow human civilization to return to the site of the Garden of Eden once again Other researchers, however, suggest that the Garden of Eden was located between Mount Ararat and the Persian Gulf.
From a biblical perspective, planet Earth was originally one continent and only later split into several continents The first book of the Bible, Genesis, says the following: "
... the name of the one was Peleg, for in his days the earth was divided ... "

The German scientist Alfred Wegener suggested the name “Pangaea” for this socalled “supercontinent”, which can be translated from ancient Greek as “whole land”. According to Wegener, this should have existed around 335175 million years ago. It was thought that the oasis of Eden could once have been submerged by water somehow. This means that the geographical location has undergone a massive change since the existence of Eden, which seriously complicates its localization, although the region was described in sufficient detail in the Bible:

However, although the legend describes the Garden of Eden with astonishing accuracy and mentions the time of its creation, it says nothing about its coordinates on planet Earth:

hat do we know about the first humans, Adam and Eve, and where does our knowledge of the first couple come from?
The names Adam and Eve were not chosen at random
The name “Adam” in translation means a man who was created from the “red” earth The ancient Chaldean legend even interprets his name to mean that he was created from the “bloody” earth The Chaldeans believed that God mixed his blood into the earth and created man from this material.And the name “Eve”?

Where was the workshop where the first humans were created?
One of the supposed places of Adam's creation is the city of Hebron in Israel. It is interesting to note that the ground around Hebron actually has a distinct red tint

LILITH
The very first woman
According to nonbiblical traditions, Lilith was Adam's first wife, not Eve She was created from the earth just like Adam and not like Eve, who was taken from Adam's body. Therefore, she was extremely selfconfident and did not obey her husband She honestly couldn't understand why Adam should be number one. The first feminist! In order to make woman dependent on man and avoid another divorce, God will take this incident into account in the future and create Eve not from the earth, but from Adam's rib.
The ancient legends claim that Lilith quickly separated from Adam and became the wife of Satan. God demanded that Lilith return to Adam, otherwise He threatened to turn her into mist. She refused and, according to legend, has since become a night spirit She comes to Adam and Eve's children at night to frighten them.
Lilith is only mentioned once in the Bible in the book of Isaiah:

What reminds us today of the very first woman, Lilith? Some of Eve's daughters now bear her name. It is not the most common female name in the world, but it is often used, for example, in Armenia.
In addition, an astronomical phenomenon officially bears the name of the legendary first woman: "The moon describes an ellipse around the earth. The ellipse always has two foci. The earth is one of them, while the other is the empty focus of the lunar ellipse. This is known as the dark moon, the black moon, or Lilith. In today's botanical science, plants are essentially given names that describe their appearance. For example, the flowers of the plant “angel's trumpet” really do resemble fabulous musical wind instruments The plants that grew in the legendary Garden of Eden were named after their effect on humans. In this way, one tree is said to give life to man, while another to impart knowledge of good and evil:

Traditionally, the apple is considered the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil But there is no clear evidence of this And the Bible only mentions the word "fruit"
The annual calendar in Judaism begins with the day of Adam's creation and is celebrated annually as the holiday of "Rosh Hashanah" (literally meaning "New Year")
On this holiday, Jews eat apples with honey. Perhaps this is a reference to the Biblical event in the Garden of Eden: the apple became the fruit of man's bitterness and suffering there, and now during the celebration of Adam's "Birthday" this apple is sweetened with honey.

The Lord God also planted the tree of the knowledge of good and evil in the Garden of Eden This is the famous tree, the only one from which it was forbidden to eat fruit under threat of death. According to the Bible, after Adam and Eve had eaten from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, their eyes opened and they saw that they were naked. The legends add to this story: Adam and Eve wanted to take the leaves from the trees to cover their nakedness But all the trees refused to give their leaves to the sinners. The fig tree was the only one in the Garden of Eden that gave its leaves for Adam and Eve to cover themselves For this tree was precisely the one that, according to legend, has the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil.
Other legends say that the fruits of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil were unripe grapes, which is why evil and good were still contained in the fruit And you only had to wait one day for the fruit to be consumed by humans. So good and evil in the fruit were to be separated from each other over time, or the good was even purified from the evil In any case, some ripening processes were still required.
Eve squeezed the berries and gave them to her husband. Both their eyes were opened and they realized that they were naked. So Adam and Eve plaited the fig leaves and made them into aprons.

The tree of life - the grape?
Some traditions say that grapes were the fruit of the Tree of Life. Nowadays, the juice of the grapes is seen as a symbol of life in church during communion

Before Adam died, he sent one of his sons to the Garden of Eden to gather fruit from the tree of life. Adam wanted to eat it so that he could live forever. At the entrance to the Garden of Eden, his son encountered an angel with a sword. Adam's son said that his father was dying and therefore needed the fruit from the tree of life The angel replied that it would only be possible to take fruit from the tree of life after 2000 years, and instead gave him just one branch of the tree. The grieving son then planted the angel's branch in the ground After 2,000 years, the cross on which Jesus Christ was crucified was made from this tree.
In this legend, Jesus was seen as a spiritual fruit that would bring man eternal life. In church tradition, there are even icons that represent the cross of Jesus as the tree of life In the New Testament, Jesus is also compared to Adam:

Dinosaurs - the ancestors of snakes?

The consequences of the expulsion
After being expelled from paradise, the first humans had to start their journey all over again: They had to make bows and arrows to get food, build houses to find shelter, reinvent wheels to reach their destinations quickly, and do much more that seems to be taken for granted today.
Archaeologists have found plenty of evidence of this. What's more, people today are still looking for a way to simplify their lives at a new technological level.
The state of the two a er they were expelled from the Garden of Paradise is reflected in the monument in the Florgarten in Düsseldorf. The doves sit like two comfor ng angels on Adam, who holds the gloomy Eve in his hands.

Tomb of Adam and Eve
Three possible places
There are three locations mentioned as possible burial sites of Adam and Eve.
1) Cave of the Patriarchs "Machpelah" in Hebron
The first hypothesis places the grave of Adam and Eve in the cave “Machpelah” (translated “Cave of the Double Tombs”) in Hebron in Israel. This is where Abraham, his wife Sarah and their descendants (Isaac, his wife Rebekah, Jacob's grandson and one of his wives Leah) were buried over 3000 years ago Traditionally, this tomb of Abraham and Sarah is also regarded as the burial place of Adam and Eve. 2) Adam's Chapel in the CHURCH of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem
