Lower Concert Programme

Page 1

Welcome from the Director of Music

It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to the first of this year's Lower School concerts. It has been my privilege to get to know the vivacious and talented pupils of Oakham Lower School and see them preparing for tonight's musical feast! It is reassuring to me that in a time when the Arts are facing such great challenges nationally, we can see our young people taking both enjoyment and pride in their performances.

Discovering all of the excellent musical possibilities at Oakham has been humbling and inspiring for me, from the rhythm of weekly rehearsals and chapel services to the poise of the Wednesday lunchtime series. Mix all of this with a truly dedicated and inspiring team of teachers and you have a music department of which we can be very proud. I hope that you enjoy tonight's concert and all of the other incredible events this academic year.
