Be reassured you will see these markings on Socket & See products:
Through consistent contact with electricians, engineers and gas installation engineers, Socket & See have been producing electrical test equipment since 1998 with both professional and newly-qualified trades people in mind. go test..
From our humble beginnings with just 3 socket testers, we have developed products for use in domestic, commercial and industrial settings with our primary focus being on innovation, ease-of-use and affordability.
DSO & SMART METERING
Assisting industry engineers to implement and practice safe working procedures during the installation process; the only two-pole tester to perform an impedance check and give a clear colour-coded indication of HiZ/LoZ. This makes it ideal for critical DNO checks.
It has automatic ghost voltage suppression with no need to press buttons. This means the engineer can keep both hands rmly on the tester during measurements. Results are displayed on colour-coded independently operating LEDs on the side and base of the tester.
Suitable for use with PPE, as often required by company policy for compliance purposes and ts safely in a compact and protective carry case, which can be e ortlessly carried using either the shoulder strap or belt loop.
The SOK DSO is a socket tester primarily designed for DSO’s (Distribution System Operators) and MOPs (Meter Operators). It will indicate cross polarity of incoming supply at a consumer’s installation where supplied in a TN-CS (PME) earthing arrangement.
To identify a reverse polarity on a PME system, a reference to the true mass of earth must be taken. The SOK DSO forces an engineer to reference the true mass of earth by making them push a button to initiate the socket test. This gives them no choice but to conduct the polarity test.
When the engineer touches the push button, they reference earth by capacitive coupling. Capacitive coupling is an incredibly safe way of referencing earth and should the engineer wish, they can even leave insulated gloves on while initiating the test.
If a reverse polarity is detected it is indicated by a warbling tone and a red LED. If no polarity fault is present the SOK DSO will then act as a conventional socket tester.
DSO DMM RMS Multimeter; designed speci cally for DSO engineers, complete with unique automatic ghost voltage busting functionality and no requirment to select LoZ (making this DMM easy to use).
Hostile environment? It comes with a rugged protective over-mould and a CAT IV 600V safety rating, plus 500mA fused test leads. A reliable tool for professionals and industry experts!
With resistance measurement up to 19.99K Ohms and a continuity feature for quick belling out, this multimeter is suitable for various applications.
It is compatible with a exi current clamp (1mV = 1A), allowing convenient current measurements, and includes a k-type thermocouple for temperature measurements
Comes with fused test leads magnetic fob, K-type probe, soft carry case.
ELECTRICIAN’S ESSENTIALS

The single function testers are ergonomically designed with a protective rubber boot. They have a large backlit LCD screen for easy-to-read results and a kick stand and magnetic fob for easy use.
PDL PRO Earth Loop Impedance Tester o ers a no trip Zs test and high current Ze testing with milliohm resolution.
IRC PRO Insulation Resistance and Continuity Tester has a 200mA continuity test with null facility and insulation tests at 250V, 500V and 1000V.
There is also a buzzer facility for easy belling out. It is fully protected against accidental connection to earth.
RCD PRO RCD Tester allows testing in accordance with BS 7671. Ramp test is available for fault- nding. Dual-colour LCD screen gives clear indication of a pass or fail.
The MFT 5000 Multifunction Tester is suitable for domestic and industrial testing. Its padded neck strap, lightweight design and remote probe make it incredibly easy and comfortable to use.
GAS / HEATING ENGINEERS
The Socket & See TB118 Advanced Kit and TB118 Essential Kit contain all the equipment a gas engineer needs to safely comply with Technical Bulletin 118 (safe electrical isolation of gas appliances).
For the safe to touch test, both kits contain the Socket & See VVD PRO. This non-contact voltage indicator can be used to check for the presence of hazardous voltage on appliances, pipework and exposed metal work as called for by TB118, BS 6891 and BS 6400. The VVD PRO gives visual and physical warnings of any hazardous voltage detected.
However the appliance is connected to the mains, Socket & See have an appropriate lock o device to stop unwanted energising. Both kits contain locks for 13 Amp plugs, MCB / RCD and fused spurs. They are accompanied with prohibition tags so the full “lockout - tag out” procedure can be conducted.
To allow the safe isolation procedure to be carried out, each kit includes a two-pole voltage indicator and proving unit.
The VIP150 (Advanced Kit) is small enough to access tight spaces and terminal blocks, and has battery free operation. The VIP200 (Essentials Kit) has an additional continuity test facility, ash light and single pole indication.
The SP200 / SP400 proving units provide an easily assessable AC “known source” to prove operation of voltage indicators before and after use. This is as covered in Stage 2 and 4 of TB118 safe isolation procedure. The SP400 (Advanced Kit) also features a test pad to prove non-contact voltage detectors, such as the Socket & See VVD PRO.
As gas appliances are class 1 (earthed enclosure), TB118 calls for a check of power supply earthing. This earth loop impedance test can be carried out by the PDL234 or DLM PRO without tripping the installation RCD. The DLM PRO, part of the Advanced Kit, also includes multi-meter functionality for appliance fault- nding down to component level.
