NOTE FROM THE ARTISTIC DIRECTOR,

Welcome to Frozen!

This production marks an exciting milestone for A.C.T. of Connecticut. While our stage has been home to many powerful and deeply moving stories, Frozen is our first truly family-friendly production - and our very first Disney musical. That makes this moment especially meaningful. We are thrilled to be opening our doors to brand-new audiences, welcoming families, young theatergoers, and patrons who may be discovering A.C.T. of CT for the very first time. If today is your introduction to our theater, we’re so glad you’re here!

At its heart, Frozen is a story about love in its many forms: sisterhood, belonging, acceptance, and the courage it takes to be your authentic self. It reminds us that strength doesn’t come from shutting people out, but from opening ourselves up, even when it feels risky. These themes resonate deeply, no matter your age, and they are exactly the kinds of stories we believe theater should be telling.

This production is also personal for me in a very profound way. When I was eight years old, my parents brought me to a regional production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. I remember sitting in the audience, completely transfixed. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing - music, movement, color, storytelling—all unfolding live in front of me. Something clicked that night. In that moment, I knew I wanted to be part of this world.

It is my hope that somewhere in this audience tonight is another eight year old; wide-eyed, inspired, and unknowingly beginning their own lifelong relationship with the arts. Perhaps they will become a performer, a designer, a director, a musician—or simply a passionate audience member who carries a love of theater with them forever. That spark is why we do what we do.

Thank you for being part of this special moment in our journey. Sit back, enjoy the magic, and welcome to Frozen at A.C.T. of Connecticut.

When Jim Steinman passed in April of 2021, he left behind not only his incomparable body of musical and theatrical works, but also his beloved home in Ridgefield, CT where he lived for nearly 30 years. It was from this home that Jim collaborated with world acclaimed musicians and artists, composing on the very piano that is included in this once in a lifetime sale of Jim’s home and curated collections which have been left in situ. Jim commissioned prestigious New England architect, Rob Bramhall, to design his home and spent over $6M in the construction alone. The one of a kind art and collections included with the sale are truly priceless (inquire for Art Catalogue). The sum total of the individual components in this offering is believed to far exceed the list price, but the intention is to honor Jim’s legacy by keeping his sanctuary intact. $2,995,000
