Our activity sessions are targeted particularly at those who are not already involved in regular physical activity or sport. We welcome all new participants. Don’t worry about your playing standard – this is a programme that provides for all levels of ability. The emphasis is very much upon the social as well as the physical benefits that can be gained from getting involved with regular physical activity.

In addition to the above weekly programme, we also deliver inclusive festivals and competitions, and bespoke activity sessions for groups including local disability groups, day care centres and hospital wards.

Friendly community hub for people living with dementia and their carers.

Come and join our community hub for a social morning of tea, coffee & biscuits and a fun activity. Then stay for a two course hot lunch. £7.50 for the day. Come and join us at our friendly Elderflower Hub, where we offer you the opportunity to meet other carers in a relaxed environment, with a light lunch, and a fun activity!

ActivWalks – It’s a walk in the park!

Why not come and join us for a lovely walk around Christchurch Park, Ipswich every other Monday at 11am - 12 noon. We meet at the Soane Street entrance, down from the Mansion and near the park benches. You will meet lots of new people and walking is a good way to improve your health and fitness. Please wear suitable shoes.

ActivSheds - Calling all DIYers! The Shed is open: Fridays, 9:30am – 3.30pm CRESS Pavilion, Halifax Road, Ipswich IP2 8RE (near the People’s Community Garden). DIY, carpentry and construction projects, both at ActivGardens and in the shed. Learn and share skills.

ActivGardens Projects 2022 Roots to Work – People’s Community Garden on Maidenhall Allotments, Halifax Road, Ipswich IP2 8RE and Belle Vue Park, Sudbury, CO10 2PP Designed to build practical skills and knowledge about gardening, growing and nature conservation in a friendly, welcoming community of volunteers. Learners can get involved in beekeeping, carpentry and other areas too.

The 8-week course starts in Ipswich on Mon 21st March or Fri 25th March 2022 or in Sudbury on Thu 24 March. (Ipswich based learners opt to attend on Monday OR Friday.) Places are limited and activities will take place in small groups.

We help people take first steps towards building up their confidence and developing other skills such as good communication, ability to work in a team, showing initiative and taking responsibility.

We enable people to find their strengths and develop their abilities so they feel empowered to move on into further learning, training or employment.

It’s entirely FREE – funded by the European Social Fund administered by LIFT ‘Local Investment in Learning Paths to Work’ Community Grants Programme. To take part, you just have to be resident of Suffolk, eligible to work in UK, and not in employment.

Covid-19 health and safety measures are in place throughout our sites.
