No bridge too far for LeasePlan ‘Summer’s come and gone again.’ Gerard Cox’s number-one hit in 1973 has lost none of its relevancy. So to perpetuate that blissful summer feeling a little while longer, we’ve included a few ideas for trips to the coast in our Escape column. But we haven’t forgotten those of you who prefer to take a weekend break later in the year. That’s not to say that a well-earned lunch to recharge our batteries can’t be seen as a short break.

So you’ll find a number of tips for an original lunch in the Belgian capital in the first edition of our brand-new column ‘Lunch@’. We can also drift off pleasantly in the article ‘No bridge too far’, which portrays some of the most beautiful bridges in Europe. Definitely worth a visit!

But for LeasePlan as well there is no bridge too far. We demonstrate this once again with our eye-catching promotion for the private market. The fines are sent to the leasing company because it is registered as the owner of the vehicle. But this also brings with it heaps of administrative work. Thousands of fines pour in every week and have to be dealt with by hand. But there must be a more efficient way to do it! This is why LeasePlan, together with other vehicle leasing companies, will start using a fines platform from January 2016.

Since it was clear that all vehicle leasing companies were confronted with the same problem, LeasePlan took the initiative as market leader to contact Renta, the Belgian Vehicle Rental Association. After consultation with the Federal Police, Renta developed a system that enabled the Police and, at a later date, other city services such as parking companies to send fines and fees directly to the drivers themselves.
