Whisk pumpkin, sweetened condensed milk, eggs, spices, and salt in medium bowl until smooth.

Pour into crust. Bake 15 minutes.

Reduce oven temperature to 350° F and continue baking 35 to 40 minutes or until knife inserted one inch from crust comes out clean. Cool. Garnish as desired. Store leftovers covered in refrigerator.

Locals giving back to the community with more than just money at Wilsonville Subaru Wilsonville Subaru is not just a car dealership that is looking for quick and easy sales. When you walk in the door, you can be assured that you will be respected as a valued client and that your needs will be a top priority for them. They pride themselves on maintaining excellent relationships with their customers, but their goodwill extends far beyond their client base as well.

different charities and local groups, from sponsoring events like the Brew Fest to packing 21,785 pounds of food at the Oregon Food Bank, and every big and small organization in between.

Being a part of the Subaru community is very special in many ways. Wilsonville Subaru is very passionate about making the world a better place, and to further that goal they fill their hearts and time with a program called the Subaru Love Promise.

The Subaru Love Promise Community Commitment is their way of being a positive force in something bigger, not just

They are part of a Community Sharing program that donates dinners for Thanksgiving and Christmas. This program has everyone heavily involved. Their team recently partnered with Wilsonville Community Sharing/ Food Bank to provide 81 local families in need with turkeys, mashed potatoes and more for Thanksgiving dinners.

This doesn’t even touch on all of the programs that Wilsonville Subaru does. They have a program where seniors come in every week and stuff backpacks for students that need food for their families, and have the food pantry located specially at their facility. They also have another program that focuses on schools and reading programs through the library.

Subaru also works with Victory Academy to help students gain work experience. The Work Experience program connects the students enrolled in Victory Academy’s Transition Program with internships and paid employment opportunities across a variety of vocations. These special students come in starting with no knowledge and graduate the program with more pride than ever before. The students aren’t the only ones that take pride in this program, but also the employees teaching them.

Wilsonville Subaru holds their head high with great pride as they participate in the Love Promise Community Commitment. They are grateful, not only to be a part of the community, but to serve and support the causes and passions that are closest to their hearts, right here in the neighborhood. All of the organizations they support have one thing in common: the unwavering dedication to improve the world and the lives of the people in it.

Every year the wineries donate over 5 tons of food, and they plan to continue growing that number every year.

This special weekend will be an adventure for everyone young and old. Wine Country Thanksgiving even features wineries that are friendly and open to everyone, whether you are wanting to bring your children or your pets along.

ooking to explore the Willamette Valley wineries, but not sure where to start or what to do? During Thanksgiving Weekend, the Willamette Valley opens their cellars and tasting rooms for the 37th Annual Wine Country Thanksgiving. This special event happens during the Thanksgiving weekend only. This event is a one of a kind tradition, unique to Oregon, that is an amazing way to celebrate friends, family and the completion of the grape harvest.

If you follow the guide for the event you will be able to see which wineries offer the following: Library Offerings - Library (older-vintage) wines available for taste and/or purchase Food Pairings - Food pairings by in-house chefs, food trucks, etc.

New Releases - The winery will be debuting a new release wine.

Special Projects - The winery will be showcasing seasonal Nouveau-style wines, side projects or something else that’s not in their usual lineup.

All year long, our local non-profits step up to HOLLI THOMAS serve as many people as they possibly can. This time of year, especially, we see and feel their presence everywhere we go.

They want to make sure that those who have fallen on hard times, or are simply less fortunate, have something to truly be thankful for.

The Wilsonville Chamber of Commerce started The Community Raffle a couple of years ago.

We choose this time of year, because we believe it is the best time to give thanks to those who work tirelessly to help others all year long. The Community Raffle is designed to give back to the community. Yes, we have prizes to give away.

But the focus of our energy is on supporting our nonprofit organizations.

If you have always given to a particular nonprofit and would like to be able to give them more, or if you have simply never been able to afford to give, look at our Community Raffle. There is no cost to get a packet of tickets (10) and sell them.

Then proceeds from that sale will go to a nonprofit of your choice. So many organizations can use a little help, because a “little help” to them, results in making a huge difference in someone else’s life.

On the 2nd we enjoyed the “Morning Spark” at the Wilsonville Library with our Hosts the Library Foundation. Hearing about the Dolly Parton Imagination Library program was second only to the number of kids in our area that receive books every month until they are 5 years old….FREE! They are also getting ready for one of their biggest fundraisers, “A Toast to Imagination” on November 9th.

Our next Morning Spark was held October 16th with our Hosts, the City of Wilsonville. We enjoyed hearing from the City Council President, the Economic Development Manager and our City Administrator. We tried a new interactive trivia game, Kahoot, and everyone seemed to really enjoy it. The City put together multiple prizes to be awarded and the morning ended with treats, lots of new faces and plenty of networking!

money,” she says with a laugh. “There’s a reason why the term ‘starving artist’ exists.”

She spent 10-15 years as a veterinary technician and also owned a retail business in Canby for a number of years. Everything changed one day when she was browsing YouTube and found a series on fluid acrylic pouring.

“I started watching it and it just fascinated me,” she said. “The thing I love about it is, you don’t have to have a formal education.

You don’t have to know how to draw a perfect human figure. It’s very freeing. There’s no right or wrong.”

heryl Masek has been obsessed with color and design since she was a little girl. “If you want to go all the way back, I have always been into art and color,” she says. “Even in elementary school, I would take summer classes doing painting and all kinds of stuff like that.”

Her love of art followed her as she grew up. “In high school, and then college, I took every single art class that I could feasibly fit into my schedule,” she says.

Creative expression was the one constant for Sheryl, as she experimented with a wide variety of mediums, from paint to ceramics. But finding her niche as an artist, particularly commercially, was not easy. “It’s tough being an artist and making

The artist also creates series of circular distortions in the paint, called “cells,” because that’s exactly what they look like. Over the past few years, Sheryl has developed her own paint recipe and several techniques to create unique “cells” that have become something of a calling card for her studio, Cerebral Artworks.

“I try to make something that is pleasing to the eye, where it’s not just a hodgepodge of too many colors thrown on,” she said. “I try to add in some elements that kind of breaks up the color as well.”

Understanding How Your Customers Think Any business can take its client relationships to the next level.

By leveraging the customer experience, small business owners can find insights into what pushes a customer to into buying, and even into returning.

What Drives Customers to Make Purchases?

I

f you want to build lasting, meaningful relationships with your customers, it’s important to pay attention to their needs.

Improve your business by focusing on your client’s story, and that can help you understand what drives them. You’re also able to build empathy for your clients by interacting with them regularly, and that feedback can help you create a strategy for retention.

To win repeat buyers and build brand loyalty, you’ve got to be able to anticipate customers’ practical and emotional desires and respond to them. That means seeking out as many points of contact as possible to really appreciate your customer’s buying behavior.

How Small Business Owners Leverage the Customer Experience

“Think about the journey as a cycle of interactions,” says David Saef, former executive vice president of strategy for Global Experience Specialists, Inc. “The more often you talk to and observe your customers, the greater your capacity for truly understanding their concerns.”

Saef p rovides a fivestep strategy to learn what drives your consumers’ buying behavior: Step One: Look to social media for customer satisfaction details. You might find groups of clients in online spaces such as LinkedIn, Facebook, or Twitter. By knowing where to find your customers, you’re in a position to observe and adapt and potentially improve your business.

Or, if your customers have a professional space or common hobby, you can join them in the real world for a face-to-face. “Where are they gathering and talking, and how can you participate in that conversation in a relevant and meaningful way?”

Saef asks.

Step Two: Observe customers in their native space.

Create an opportunity to watch your customers using your product. “Being in the moment of your product or service is so important,” Saef says. If you have a digital product, you can use analytical tools to see how people are using it. If possible, try to physically visit clients in their office to get a better sense of their purchase behavior

Step Three: Drive product design through customer feedback. Focus on “design thinking” which allows you to let the goals of the customer drive your product development. One way to use design thinking is by conducting empathy interviews. You’ll gain a better understanding of not just how customers use your product, but how they feel about it.

You may find insights on the customer journey that help you to understand why your product works, and where it falls short. The Institute of Design at Stanford advises entrepreneurs to encourage customers to tell stories and always ask “Why?” With this information, you gain a better understanding of your customer’s needs. “You need to connect more with the emotional perspective,” Saef says.

Step Four: Go to trade shows and industry events.

Trade shows and other events are a great space to find and meet existing and potential customers, but it’s not enough to just be a passive participant.

“It’s important for small business ownership to take advantage of the full ecosystem of that conference,” says Saef. That means calling people up before you arrive, connecting with them during free time, organizing a focus group for your product and following up after the event to solidify your rapport.

Step Five: Improve your product by hosting events for customers and clients. When you host your own event, you can reap the benefits of a trade show while controlling the entire experience and keeping the focus on your own business.

“At your own corporate event you’re creating the circumstances to really provide an immersive customer journey,” Saef says.

Gaining insight into your customers’ buying behavior is a never-ending quest. Try hosting a holiday party or other event. You’ll be able to leverage the information you discover about your clients to improve your marketing or the products you offer.

The answers to what you should do with your Thanksgiving Leftovers Thanksgiving Leftover Casserole combines all the flavors of the big meal in a simple, easy to make, never dried out dish. This is the best way to use up those leftovers!

Prep Time: 5 minutes Cook Time: 35 minutes Total: 40 minutes Serves: 12 servings

INGREDIENTS • 3 cups turkey shredded • 1 1/2 cups cranberry sauce • 4 cups mashed potatoes • 2 cups corn • 2 cups turkey gravy • 1/3 cup milk • 4 cups stuffing • 1/4 cup chicken broth

INSTRUCTIONS Preheat oven to 400-degrees

1. Combine turkey and cranberry sauce and spread evenly on the bottom of a 9x13 glass baking dish.

2. Evenly press on leftover mashed potatoes and sprinkle corn over the top.

3. Mix together milk and leftover gravy and spread evenly over potatoes and corn.

4. Sprinkle on leftover stuffing and lightly drizzle chicken broth over the top (this will keep the stuffing from drying out).

5. Cover with tin foil and bake at 400-degrees for approximately 35-40 minutes or until heated through.
