Safari Walkabout For All Ages!

reetings, all you pith-helmetwearing adventure seekers out there! Now that COVID restrictions are finally starting to ease up a bit, the majority of us are beyond anxious to get out there and start having some fun again. We’re ready to come out from under the rock we’ve been hiding under, and go somewhere different, see something new, and do something fun. Something like, say, a Safari Walkabout would be just perfect!

You heard that right!

Once again, Frog Pond Farm has come to the rescue and offered us something that is not only unique and fun for the entire family, but is also safe! After all, restrictions haven’t completely lifted, and we need to remain vigilant. We’re not out of the woods yet, and the number of activities we can enjoy while still maintaining a safe distance, are few and far between. That’s why the Safari Walkabout at Frog Pond is the perfect solution to finding adventure while still being cautious.

right up to them and even feed and/or pet the animals. With admission, you get a free cup of feed, but if you’d like more, you can purchase additional feed in a larger cup for $5. If you visit every pen, you will see more than 80 animals in total, including camels, cows, sheep, goats, pigs, llamas, tortoises, ponies, donkeys, chickens, ducks, rabbits, guinea pigs, and emus!

Once you’ve skipped over the pens and eaten all of the animals’ feed yourself (just kidding - don’t do that!), be sure to visit their Farm Zone for a ton of fun activities. Climb the giant Hay Tower, go down the tunnel slides, mine for gold and priceless gems in the Mining Sluice, or do your best hamster impression while running around inside one of their 10 foot drainage culverts (aka Hamster Wheels). You can also dig holes with real backhoes, or play any of their multiple yard games, like Jumbo Connect Four, Cornhole, Miniature Basketball, and much more.

There is so much to do here, you may even need to take the family twice! Prices are, as always, more than reasonable: $10 per person 2 years of age and older (including the small cup of animal feed). It could take you as little as 1-2 hours to experience everything, but guests are invited to stay as long as they want.

They’ve got 5 full acres of property set aside; more than enough room for everyone to enjoy the festivities while still social distancing. Within that 5 acres, they’ve established numerous stations offering a variety of fun-filled activities, and now you are able to get out of the car and walk the premises.

They do offer space to hold birthday parties in a separate area (a 24 x 16 barn), but there is no additional cost above regular admission. Dogs are allowed on a leash, but please pick up after them. The Frog Pond Farm Safari Walkabout is open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 10am until 4pm (subject to change).
