In 1989, Richard Peralta began a small chimney sweeping company in Canby, Oregon in order to help support his growing family. Richard started the business on a part-time basis to provide extra income for his family of eight, while working full time for UPS. Richard built the business from the ground up by providing dependable, quality service that is still trusted to this day.

Thanks to his incredible dedication to the craft, integrity, and impeccable customer care, Richard’s business quickly grew into the chimney repair and cleaning company that carries on his legacy today. Many of Richard’s first customers are still with Chimcare LLC today, along with their family and friends.

STAYTON SUBLIMITY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE

SummerFest Celebrates 27 Years

T

he Stayton Sublimity Chamber of Commerce is enthusiastically planning the return of Stayton’s beloved signature event, the 27th annual Santiam SummerFest, happening Saturday, July 30 in historic downtown Stayton. NW Preferred Federal Credit Union is the 2022 title sponsor partnering with the local Chamber to support this long-standing event.

The Chamber produces the annual event as an extension of their commitment to enhance community livability and to promote a thriving business climate throughout the region they serve.

“Downtown Stayton continues to grow and has become the home to many new businesses over the last several years,” said

Chamber CEO Carmélle Bielenberg and Stayton High’s eagle mascot.

Chamber CEO and Event Producer Carmélle Bielenberg. “This event is a fun way to showcase downtown Stayton alongside of cool vendors, community partners and regional businesses, while providing the community at large with a full day of good family fun. It’s our way of giving back to the businesses and community we serve.”

The festival began as an old-fashioned vendor street fair and continues to draw nearly 100 vendors annually, with a selection of arts and crafts, produce, community resources, retail products and services. Santiam Hospital & Clinics will be hosting this year’s Family Fun Zone, complete with a bounce house, laser tag and other kid-friendly activities. New to the 2022 event will be a “Big Boys (and Girls) Toys” exhibit, in which the Chamber plans to showcase machinery from area agriculture, construction, forestry, outdoor recreation and emergency services. “We are hoping this exhibit piques kids’ interest in local industry while helping to connect employers with potential job seekers in a fun, laid-back atmosphere. We are always looking for unique ways to engage the public while showing off the amazing businesses that are located here in our region.” Carmélle also mentioned, “We are working on some fun water activities in the afternoon to keep attendees cool and bringing in age-appropriate offerings to engage the teen festival-goers, as well.”

As always, there’ll be a full-day of live entertainment on the main stage located near the beer garden, hosted by Snow Peak Brewing, and a variety of food vendors, in and surrounding the city parking lot on the corner of Florence and Third. A great lineup of musicians includes 19-year-old Silverton sensation Mathieu Raney, classic rock band EDGE, and the popular Rock & Roll Cowboys playing all our favorites.
