We represent “ACTIVE HAMS AMATEUR RADIO SOCIETY (AARS-KL)”,founded by a group of radio amateurs from Kerala. AARS-KL is established and administered by technologists and industrial experts to promote innovative communication, research, education and training in the field of wireless radio communication for the benefit of society. We formally adopted our constitution on 2nd of May 2018 under “The
Travancore-Cochin Literary, Scientific and Charitable Societies Registration Act, 1955”. Whenever 'normal' communications go out, we are ready to use our radios to provide emergency communication services to their communities. Ham Radio possesses a vast potential to serve as an alternative communication channel, when the mainstream channels breakdown during disasters. Within Active Hams, We have three groups based on the activities they involved, 1) Community Rescue Volunteers (CRV) 2) Social Responsive Service Team (SRS) 3) Technology & Communication Research Group (ITC) Apart from these group we have corporate members, honorary members as well as advisory members too. They are also part of our group. These members includes head of MNCs ,industrialists, technocrats, lawyers, university scholars ,disaster management experts and communication policy makers. We are 20 plus members now. A licensed radio amateur want get an entry to our society as a normal member , we’ve put two criteria, first of all you should complete the Community Rescue Volunteer Training (CRV) from Fire Force, second you should participate a rescue / emergency communication operation and based on the performance in those activities, our governing body will take decision on membership.
