To manage the Wellness program on site. The primary role will be to educate peers about HIV, communicable and non-communicable diseases. Coordinate awareness, counseling and testing sessions on site and complete monthly reports.
INHERENT JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum Requirements
(i) Grade 12, 3 years relevant experience.
(ii) Driver's license Code 8; own vehicle is compulsory.
Competencies
(i) Intermediate level of computer literacy- MS Office, level 2- MS Word and Power point (ii) Excellent communication skills.

Management of Wellness Program on Site
• Implement and manage a Wellness Program on site.
• Co-ordinate the logistics for the Awareness, Counselling and Testing (ACT) sessions on site
• Create an enabling environment in the workplace for workers with health issues.
• Provide referrals to local clinics (Department of Health) to access effective treatment and patient monitoring.
• Conduct regular toolbox talks with workers.
• Attend quarterly forum facilitation meetings on site and annual combined meetings.
• Create and maintain a database of all workers and immediate families, local NGO's and clinics.
• Reporting on site meetings, toolbox talks, weekly planning sheets and monthly reports to service provider.
Communication Management
• To ensure satisfactory client liaison between Service Provider, the site workers and other stake holders.
• Communicate with the program manager on all aspects of the program.

Gunpowder, Treason and Plot
Next week on November 5th it is Guy Fawkes Night, celebrated in several countries with fireworks and bonfires.
Unfortunately fireworks are now banned here, which is a pity as they are such fun.
I’m sure many of you remember en re neighbourhoods le ng off firecrackers on Guy Fawkes Night. I loved sparklers best and we used to run around weaving designs in the air with their brilliant light.
There were roman candles, catherine wheels and rockets that shot up trailing fire, then exploded in showers of gold.
My mother told us that the fireworks were to commemorate a plot by a man called Guy Fawkes who had tried to blow up the Bri sh Houses of Parliament hundreds of years before.
At that me there was widespread intolerance of Catholics in Britain, and they were persecuted. This started because King Henry VIII had wanted to divorce his wife, but divorce was not allowed in the Church, so Henry passed an Act in 1547 founding a new church, the Church of England, and making himself head. Free of Catholicism, he divorced the queen.
When James 1 became king, many Catholics in Britain hoped he would show tolerance, but no such luck. They lived in fear
In 1605 a Catholic called Robert Catesby, Guy Fawkes’s cousin, decided to take radical ac on. He formed a secret group to blow up the Houses of Parliament during its opening, which would kill King James and his heir.
Guy Fawkes had been an explosives expert in the military, so he was chosen to set the fuse leading to casks of gunpowder hidden in the cellars under the Houses of Parliament.
It must have been tense, creeping around silently holding a lantern, se ng the fuse. Finally it was done. The “Gunpowder Plot” almost succeeded, but someone had wri en an anonymous le er to the authori es, telling them of the plot.
“Royal guards searched The House of Lords at midnight, and in the early hours of 5 November, Fawkes was discovered in the cellars, with a fuse, a small lamp, a box of matches and 36 poorly-hidden barrels of gunpowder,” the Historical Royal Palaces says.
The king was furious and wanted to know who his co-conspirators were, but Guy Fawkes would not betray them. So they tortured him - for daysun l he finally cracked.

He and his co-plo ers were hanged, drawn and quartered, and their body parts put on display all over London as a warning about what happens to those who commit treason.
It was a horrible deed that Guy Fawkes planned, but the king was a despicable creature, who persecuted Catholics and had people tortured, some mes to death.
This story makes me grateful we live in a country with freedom of religion. There are s ll countries that don’t have that – and some are s ll waging war over religion.
Although Guy Fawkes Night commemorates a dark event in dark mes, I wish we could s ll have a night of fireworks.
