WATER USE LICENSE APPLICATION (WULA) FOR ACTIVITIES AT MAKHULU QUARRY, KNYSNA

Notice is given in terms of the National Water Act (Act 36 of 1998) of the intent to submit the above proposal (WU29081) to the Department of Water and Sanitation.

LOCATION: Makhulu Quarry is an operational aggregate mine, located o n E r f 2 0 7 1 , n e a r K n y s n a GPS coordinates: 34°0'54.0''S 2 3 ° 6 ' 2 4 0 ” E

DESCRIPTION: Upstream Consulting is undertaking a WULA application, on behalf of Makulu Mining (Pty) Ltd., for the periodic removal of water that collects within the quarry pit, to continue with mining operations. When necessary, the pit water needs to be pumped out of the quarry and discharged within the Regulated Area of a watercourse. The application also includes the registration of an existing abstraction point on the river

(c) - Impeding or diverting the flow o f w a t e r i n a w a t e r c o u r s e ,
