PRE-QUALIFICATION NOTICE FOR ELIGIBLE SUB-CONTRACTORS FOR CONTRACT NO:T 06 OF 2022/23 SURFACING OF GRAVEL ROADS IN THE KNYSNA NORTHERN SUBURBS PHASE 2A (BALIE AND OF SETHOSA STREETS)

Pre-qualification applications are hereby invited from experienced Exempted Micro Enterprises (EME’s) or Qualifying Small Enterprises (QSE’s) located in local area, as sub-contractors for SURFACING OF GRAVEL ROADS IN THE KNYSNA NORTHERN SUBURBS PHASE 2A (BALIE AND OF SETHOSA STREETS).

The proposed Work Packages involves the construction of paving, kerbing, stormwater pipes, headwalls, guardrails and installation of retaining walls using prefabricated blocks. Only contractors with an active CIDB contractor grading designationCIDBGrade 1CE,2CE and 3CE will be eligible to tender

Bidders are advised to note that preference will be given to contractors that have never benefited from projects of similar nature under the Knysna Municipality in the past provided that they meet the requirements set out in (i) to (vii) below.

Only companies that comply with the following requirements will be eligible: i. Must be an EME orQSE ii. at least 51% owned by black people;and iii. theContractor has no equity holding in;and iv is registered in terms of the Company’s Act, 2008 (Act No 71 of 2008) or Close Corporation Act, 1984 (Act No 69 of 1984);and v. is registered on the NationalTreasury’sCentral Supplier Database (CSD);and vi. is a sub-contractor who undertakes work within its registeredCIDB category. vii.is a supplier ofGoods which satisfies (ii) to (v).

A compulsory information briefing meeting will take place on Thursday, 04 May 2023. Prospective Applicants shall meet the Project Management Team at Razz Civils and Plant Hire Site Office at 10h00 situated opposite Percy Mdala High School, Khayalethu Street, Khayalethu, Knysna. Kindly note that gates will be closed at 10h15.

Pre-qualification application documents will only be made available at the information briefing meeting. Please be advised that the site visit will not take place. Bidders are however encouraged to visit the site to acquaint themselves with the site.

Applicants must be represented at the information briefing meeting by a representative who must be the Applicant himself/herself or an authorized person in the direct employment of the Applicant.

The Pre-qualification and supporting documents shall be sealed in an envelope or package clearly marked "Pre-qualification - SURFACING OF GRAVEL ROADS IN THE KNYSNA NORTHERN SUBURBS PHASE 2A (BALIE AND OF SETHOSA STREETS) and shall be delivered by hand into the Tender Box at the Contractor’s site camp in Khayalethu,site coordinates are as follows: 34°02'10.9"S 23°06'17.8"E
