Did you know Knysna has a tiny, but gorgeous nature reserve in the centre of town? It is called the Pledge Nature Reserve and it offers a beautiful sanctuary in nature and accessible walks for young and old. It costs only R20 for adults and R10 for kids to visit.

We Raise Funding For

Maintenance & Marketing

Even though the 10ha nature reserve belongs to the municipality, we receive insufficient funding from them to manage the reserve.This includes security, clearing of invasive species, path and pond maintenance etc. We also need funding to host events and do advocacy work that promote the reserve and the preservation of our indigenous heritage.

Developing a botanical garden area

We plan to develop a part of the reserve into a locally indigenous botanical garden designed with children in mind. Our hope is to inspire the next generation of children from Knysna and beyond to love nature and to become the next custodians who find innovative ways to live in balance with nature.
