The candidate must be able to read and understand 2D cutting list drawings and prepare the 3-axisCNC machine to cut.

This involves; loading the G-code files given by the design office into the operating system of the CNC machine, changing the cutting bit in the machine to the required bit, and correctly selecting cutting material out of stock and placing and fastening it to theCNC bed.

The operator will then supervise the machine throughout the cutting process and ensure the cut parts are distributed to the production line. Light maintenance of the machine such as cleaning and greasing the machine and understanding when cutting bits are blunt and need replacing / sharpening will also be the responsibility of the operator

Required Skills:

• Ability to follow instructions

• Excellent time management and organizational skills

• Ability to work as a team member

• Ability to work in a fast-paced ever changing environment

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows

• Good spatial awareness

• Careful attention to detail

• Must have at least 1 years’ experience

• Basic use of spanners

• Basic use of hand drills and jig saws
