• AREAS OF OPERATION: Hornlee, Karatara & Rheenendal & Sedgefield.

• Control and monitor existing community-based projects.

• Research and develop new Community based programmes and resources.

• Provide effect development services to persons with disabilities by: identifying community issues, needs and problems eg: services like I.D.; birth certificates & grant applications; assistive devices; and referring them to the correct resources.

• Attending to community development work in the areas of operation on a weekly or regular basis.

• Develop a Community Profile and a survey of needs of a prospective community, for future forum discussions.

• Meet with social worker once a month for feedback/supervision sessions.

• Provide the social worker with a monthly activity report which is required for the management committee meeting and the funders.

• Attend relevant training that may be offered by WCAPD. Requirements: • Matric/ Grade 12 with a Community Development Worker Diploma.

• A valid drivers’ licence.

• Computer literate • Ability to work independently as well as in a team.

• Good written and verbal communication skills in at least 2 languages of the Western Cape.

• Have effective interpersonal relationships.
