我們相信的是……

在我們正埋頭籌備令⼈期待的"AcrossU-CAN"青年⼤獎 之際，我想藉此機會與您分享這個活動背後的真誠初衷以 及我們對年輕⼈潛⼒的堅定信念。

我們的使命初⼼

推動AcrossU-CAN青年⼤獎的核⼼信念體現在我們的主 題："WeBelieveYouCan"（我們相信你可以）。我們堅 信，年輕⼈擁有無限的可能性、熱情和希望。同時，我們 也意識到他們⾯前存在著無數的障礙、懷疑和迷失。

奬項設⽴的願景

這個奬項的重點不是成就，⽽是年輕⼈在⾯向未來時的經 歷、堅持以及對⾃⼰和他⼈所產⽣的正⾯影響。我們的⽬ 標是表彰和慶祝那些即使⾯臨挑戰仍然不懈奮⾾的年輕 ⼈，他們的堅韌和決⼼值得我們的尊重和認可。

我的反省

我 向不熱衷於奬項的理念，但我深深體會到，年輕⼈確 實需要⿎勵和認同，我們需要 些不 定已經成功但成形 的榜樣。移⺠的經歷往往是不⾜為外⼈道，需要更多的集 體共鳴和⿎勵。然⽽，在我們的社區中，華⼈⽐較內斂， 華裔年輕⼈鮮有站出來表揚⾃⼰的努⼒，這個奬項就是要 為他們打打氣。

We believe you can

As we work hard on the upcoming "Across U-CAN" Youth Awards, I want to share with you the heartfelt inspiration behind this event and our unwavering belief in the potential of our youth

The Heart of Our Mission

The core belief driving the Across U-CAN Youth Awards is captured in our theme: "We Believe You Can " We are convinced that young people possess immense potential, passion, and hope. At the same time, we recognize the myriad obstacles, frustrations, and confusions they face

Our Vision for the Awards

The focus of the awards is not on accomplishments alone but on the experiences, perseverance, and positive impact young people have on themselves and others. Our goal is to acknowledge and celebrate the resilience and determination of our youth, who continue to strive despite the challenges they encounter.

My Reflection

Though I've never been particularly enthusiastic about awards. However, I have come to realize the importance of encouragement and recognition, especially for young people. The immigrant experience often remains an untold story, requiring collective empathy and understanding In our community, where modesty is valued, young people seldom step forward to highlight their efforts. We need role models who, while not necessarily successful by traditional measures, demonstrate the journey of growth and positive influence.

Kicking Off Spring with Community Spirit

When spring arrives, it's common for everyone to head outdoors for activities such as camping and going to the beach. At Across, we kick off the season with one of our most popular programs - Tree Planting

In early May, a large group of volunteers joined us to plant over 190 trees and shrubs It was a sunny day with a blue sky and a gentle breeze We gathered at a small corner of the park and started our day with warm-up games to get to know each other. Partnering with staff from TRCA, we learned how to plant trees and properly care for the young trees and shrubs to protect them from wildlife as they grow.

We wrapped up the session by watering the trees and shrubs. The highlight of the experience was when a few participants suggested we work as a team to create a human chain to transport the water buckets, making the task more efficient and enjoyable

The sense of community and teamwork was truly inspiring It wasn’t just about planting trees; it was about coming together to make a positive impact on our environment. The event ended with smiles, laughter, and a shared sense of accomplishment. Each volunteer left with a deeper appreciation for nature and the difference that collective effort can make.
