Ready, Set, Summer! Dear Families, Thank you for your interest in Allendale Columbia School Summer Programs for your child(ren)! At AC, our school year ends a little earlier than most other schools, so there’s always those few weeks to pause, breathe, plan and to be honest with you, the school is very quiet...TOO quiet! I always look forward to camps kicking off later in June, when the campus is back to its buzzing self. Also, each summer, I am continually amazed by the creativity of offerings that are dreamt up by our Faculty and Staff. It’s so much fun to read their ideas on paper and then see them brought to life (with the energy of your kiddos) a few months later! I am happy to share that we have over 40 camps to offer this summer. There truly is something for everyone, and we hope that you will agree as you read through this brochure! See you soon! Julie Barrett Director of Summer Programs

JunE 24th - June 28th LEGO Star Wars
Teachers: Travis Godkin & Tracey Vandernaald
3rd - 9th Grade
A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away…. or in the summer of 2024…two Jedi wannabes decided to hold the most epic summer camp in the galaxy. This camp combines LEGO & Star Wars, two of the most awesome things in the universe. Come join our band of rebels as we recreate iconic scenes from the Star Wars universe. Participants will learn strategies to create MOCs (my own creations) and will flex their creativity and ingenuity by contributing to one of two large builds: BUILD A - The Battle of Hoth - a major victory for the Galactic empire and one of the most devastating losses for the rebel alliance. We will design our own layout for the Battle of Hoth and recreate it using LEGO bricks. Students will be able to build popular sets like AT-ATs, AT-STs, and the Millenium falcon while recreating the battle and designing their own Echo Base. BUILD B - The Battle of Endor - one of the most significant battles between the Galactic Empire and the Rebel Alliance. The Death Star II was destroyed and this decisive rebel victory hastened the decline of the Empire. Students can build AT-STs and recreate the imperial outpost and bunker on Endor and the fighting that takes place between the empire and the Rebels/Ewoks. Students will also be able to create other MOCs that coincide with the films like the events on Tatooine that lead to Jabba the Hutt’s demise at the Great Pit of Carkoon. Cost $225

Immerse yourself in the magical world of Harry Potter. Join Headmistress VanderNaald for a week full of fun activities and house challenges. Hogwarts AC will feature the following special events ... July 10th - Costume contest - HP themed prize for 1st place July 11th - Tree-Decorating contest & Summer snowball fight July 12th - End of term holiday feast. *Conducting experiments in Potions class *Playing Quidditch (AKA Quadball)! House Cup! *Making holiday themed Harry Pottter crafts such as ornaments of Hedwig, the Golden snitch, and Weasley holiday sweaters.
Once their wand has chosen them, they will be sorted into one of our 4 unique houses. DragonFrost is blue and silver, FieryFökse is red and gold, YonaPaw is green and silver, and Falconflight is yellow and black. I realized after my first year that I needed to create my own houses. I don’t want my witches/wizards upset or their Hogwarts experience ruined because they didn’t get into their favorite house. Having new houses also eliminates the labels that are associated with each of the original houses. *We do our best at Hogwarts AC to keep major plot points a secret. We encourage other campers to allow those who haven’t yet read the books to experience the magic, joy, and surprise that they themselves have been lucky to already enjoy. Unfortunately, some things are out of our control. We promise to do our best! Cost $425 (includes HP swag!)
