Vol 17, Term Three, Week One, 30 July 2021
Welcome back to school for our first week of Term Three. I particularly wish to formally welcome to Sunderland the 22 new students and families who began on Monday 19 in the Primary and 3 in the College. With this growth, staff had to increase and therefore I wish to introduce our new fulltime Primary teacher, Mrs Janicka Hockly. We know Janicka will be a wonderful addition to our school. This week has also been class and team photo week for sports and music groups. I was super impressed that all children and parents remembered the correct uniform and equipment for these photos – it does make all the difference. Please note that Mrs Victoria Ogden will be in touch with regards to ordering these photos very soon. Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon and evenings were very busy here at school too when so many of you took this opportunity to go over your child’s learning program from Term Two. Many of your children will have sat examinations in the middle of last term and this was an opportunity to reflect on the progress since these medium state assessments took place. I am aware one staff member was sick on Wednesday, but if you missed this Parent/Teacher session or missed seeing a particular teacher, please contact that staff member directly and arrange a mutually convenient time to catch up in the next few weeks.
