WINGS NEWSLETTER Vol 15, Term One, Week One, 31 January 2020 Dear Parents and Friends of Sunderland A huge welcome to ACG Sunderland 2020 for our existing and, in particular, all of our new students. The beginning of the year has started remarkably smoothly, even with the challenges of the coronavirus. I would like to begin by thanking everyone for their cooperation with the precautionary measures that we currently have in place. We are continuing to review our processes but there have been no further changes in the past 48 hours. We do have a number of children who are currently away from their classes and these children will be returning in the next couple of week, depending on when they arrived in New Zealand. There will be support mechanisms in place to ease their transition back into class. ACG Sunderland’s overall Cambridge pass rates for 2019 show an incredibly high level of achievement. A Level: 100% AS Level: 86% IGCSE Level: 80% The AS Level pass rates were particularly pleasing, with an exceptional increase of 7% on our 2018 results. At A Level, 41% of papers were graded with A* or A (80% or better) which reflects a 29% improvement, while at AS level, 37% of papers received an A grade result. Underscoring our academic success, ACG Sunderland has received a total of four Cambridge Awards including: 2 Top in the World 1 Top in New Zealand 1 High Achievement (Top in New Zealand for a smaller subject)
