ACG SUNDERLAND

WINGS NEWSLETTER Vol 15, Term One, Week Eleven, 8 April 2020

Dear Parents and Friends of Sunderland

I hope you are all safe and well in your bubble at home and the children at last are able to relax after what has been a very challenging Term One here at ACG Sunderland. I must say how very proud I am of the student body from Preschool all the way to Year Thirteen. All have given their best over this very trying period. Being locked down in your bubble for two weeks is one thing, it’s something else to settle down so very quickly into a completely different learning style and continue to perform so very well. I would also like to recognise my entire staff, teachers and administration staff for how they have also quickly adapted their teaching style and workspaces to accommodate our online and virtual learning styles. The feedback has been so overwhelmingly positive, I do encourage parents and students to post their feedback online in a pre-prepared survey, that can be found at: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSc7BXxTkwlA6I7BOARrBcgmeS5DmW_Hf9ifZeQzJIqmGIioUQ /viewform At this stage, we are preparing to continue with virtual lessons beyond 23 April, I suspect the Government will make an announcement during next week at some stage – to give families time to prepare for either eventuality. I am delighted to announce to the entire school that we have managed to secure a wonderful replacement for Miss Michaela Smith – our PE and Social Science teacher who fell ill and needed to return home to the UK unfortunately, at the beginning of the year.
