WINGS NEWSLETTER Vol 15, Term One, Week Two, 7 February 2020 Dear Parents and Friends of Sunderland Like me, I hope that you all had a wonderful Waitangi Day. We could not have asked for better weather! Over the last few days, the College Leaders along with our Head Girl, Shannon Macdonald, and Head Boy, Jack Feng, have been on a Leadership camp with Mr Philip Keen and Mrs Louise King. The aim of the camp is to encourage personal development in a leadership role and to give the students a positive environment to successfully plan and organise the House events for the year. This camp provides an opportunity for students to develop the skills needed to be a successful leader at ACG Sunderland. The overall feedback was that it was a highly successful event, many thanks must go Mr Keen and Mrs King. On Tuesday evening we held our annual College ‘Meet the Teacher’ evening, followed on Wednesday by our Primary ‘Meet the Teacher’ evening. It was a great occasion for parents to meet with staff and other parents in the community. Next week we will be holding our annual ID / Portrait photos for the Primary on Wednesday 12 February in the Auditorium. Parents will have the opportunity to order portrait photos later in the term, students will bring home the instructions on how to order in due course. The College date for ID Photos / Portraits is set for Monday 24 February. The College Swimming Sports is Thursday 13 February at Westwave Pools, Henderson. Parents and Caregivers are more than welcome to attend as spectators, seating has been put aside for you. All students leave from school at 9.00am and will return by 3.00pm. This will be our first year with six Houses in the competition and we are expecting a spectacular day.
